Great Album, Fantastic Sound
So I'm no longer a fan of Iced Earth due to Schaffer's treason, but had been a longtime fan. Night of the Stormrider is one of my favorite albums and I thought it would sound great on vinyl. I was able to find a used copy to avoid giving Schaffer any more $ and it did not disappoint. The sound is absolutely fantastic; it is one of my top 5 albums in my collection of several dozen. Very happy with this purchase and despite the founder's shortcomings, it is still a great piece of music and story and I highly recommend.

This album is a must for Iced Earth fans! In my opinion it's one of Iced Earth's strongest efforts if not their strongest. Much like it's predecessor it's mainly thrash riff oriented (coming from a band that has mainly been labeled power metal) but chock-full of impressive riffing, banshee like screams, and overall just great music. There are a few problems I have with this record though: 1) It's supposed to be a concept album, but I feel as though it's story its nothing more than an outline, there is no expansion on the plot nor the character. 2) the production could have been better (especially for a remaster)In closing, the album is a true underrated classic, it's been more than 20 years since it's release and sounds just as fresh as it did in 1992.

They continue to grow upwards!!
This cd is an old school metal masterpiece. I loved it from the moment I first heard those opening power chords. Classic-style heavy metal in a refreshing new package if that makes any sense. It rips from the get go and never lets up. This band is probably my favourite newer heavy metal band of the last 10 years. If they keep it up they will continue to grow the Iced Earth vibe. These guys are somewhat under the radar screen and deserve better considering all the other crap that's out there today. All hail Iced Earth!!

Great album, quality vinyl - super happy.
This is my first Iced Earth album - randomly stumbled on Iced Earth while searching for "good thrash" that wasn't from the big 4 - while I love them I was looking for something new. After listening to the whole album once I knew I had to have it - I could tell this would be an album I would continue to listen to and not get bored with after that initial honeymoon period is over. From what I've read there seems to a divided opinion on the singer on NOTSR - personally I think he is great and suits the music and songs perfectly - he reminds me a lot of Rob Halford.Musically this album is superb its quite progressive and manages to mix that classic 80's tight thrash chugging rhythm we all know and love with the super melodic Maiden style riffs and throws in some acoustic passages as a nice way to transition between songs and changes. The production is really good - its got that old school vibe which for me adds character, I am not of fan of the modern sound where everything is super "perfect" to me it doesn't sound real but thats my opinion.I bought this on vinyl so for anyone wonder its - it's heavy 180g gatefold sleeve and has the ORIGINAL ARTWORK not the remastered artwork like the CD (I was super happy about this - I think the original artwork is so much better but I couldn't find any details on which version this vinyl came with). It also came with the decent sized poster of the origin artwork. The sound quality of the vinyl it's self it top notch. All in all great album, quality vinyl pressing.

Iced Earth
