Review: Great convertible top, nice quality and fit - Takes a few hours to install but mostly time consuming, nothing difficult. A second person is helpful at times, but not required (I'm also 6'2 tho...). I'm impressed with the material quality, even though I bought the standard model and not the more expensive twill model. Its a snug fit when you first install it, and smells of "manufacturing", so it was a great idea to let it sit in the sun with the windows down after install, so it can stretch and air out, before going for a drive. Folding the top back is very easy. Removing back and side windows takes a few minutes but its easy once you do it a couple times. Worst part is where/how to store the windows when you zip them out, so they dont blow around or get scratched up. Havent solved that yet. To access the back, open the swing gate and unzip rear window MOST of the way up. Then roll it up (roll to the inside, away from you, rather than toward you) and it will rest on the sport (roll) bar and actually stay put while you mess with cargo. Make sure your sport bars are clean or any grit can scuff the rear window where it rests (when rolled up). This is just for cargo access, I dont think it would stay here while driving; better removing it then. Nice open air feeling with everything open. Nice snug fit, but not too snug so its easy to work with. Impressively quiet when its up. No leaks. Great top! Standard open means front seats are totally uncovered, and rear seats are fully covered tho (the fold happens directly over the thick middle overhead speaker cross bar). Tip if you want more opening, over the back seats - keep a tool in the vehicle to remove the 3mm allens (2 each side) that hold the first cross bar, over the drivers head. With this bar freed (you're just letting it move, not actually removing it), you can put the top back another section, putting open sky over heads of rear seat passengers as well. It wont go ALL the way back, but gives them some sky overhead, maybe halfway across back seats. Yes it stays this way and you can drive with it; I've tested up to 50mph it doesnt move. To do this, you'll need to NOT attach the velcro to the cross bar that goes across the speaker bar (its a real pain to get to anyway, so skip it and leave detached here if you think you'll want to try the "full open" mod). My pictures show the "standard" opening.
Review: Best Soft Top I’ve Ever Owned: Durable, Functional, Quiet & Worth Every Penny - I purchased the Bestop Trektop Soft Top w/ Sunrider in Black Twill back in 2020. At the time, I don’t believe they offered the NX slide/glide option for 2-door JL models, but honestly, this is the version I wanted anyway. This is hands down the best-quality soft top that you can get, and the Sunrider “sunroof” option makes it even better. To be able to open from inside even when I am driving (on trail) is awesome. I don't have backseats in my Jeep so I don't need it to come off all the way. The sport-style rear profile looks fantastic and really upgrades the overall look of my Jeep. To be clear, this is NOT just a soft top, nor just a simple bikini top, mesh or netting, or California top using bungees and etc. This is a fully capable, secure, and weather-ready roof system with a lot of versatility. That said, installation can take a bit of time initially, especially since I’m not someone who typically handles installs like this. I did get some help, and once we got going, it came together very quickly, so I think it was more about my learning curve. The second time I installed it, after briefly switching back to a hard top when I moved, it only took about an hour. Huge difference after you’ve done it once. I wouldn't suggest going on and off with this top. I just needed to logistically. One helpful tip: the rear window zippers can be a little less pliable in cold weather. I’ve found installation and removal is much easier if the top has been sitting in the sun for a bit. Around the 50s°F and up seems to help a lot. Once everything is installed, it’s not so much an issue. But on the trail, if I have all the windows off and need to put them back on quickly in cold temps, if the zippers are being a pain in the ... (now that they're older, this started last year), I have found the zipper lube stuff to be very helpful. I’ve occasionally used a small zip tie through the zipper pull to get a little extra leverage. That’s only happened a couple of times, but worth mentioning. Now for durability, which is really why I wanted to finally leave a review. I’ve had this top for 6 years, and it still performs amazingly. It is my daily driver and my off-road. My job is off-roading. It gets constant use. It has been through Colorado winters, hail storms, intense wind, Arizona heat over 114°F, and well below zero temps. It has also been parked outside often through all of it. Despite all that, it’s still going strong. I also do a LOT of Jeeping in rough terrain at high elevations, around 10,000 to 14,000 feet, where weather changes fast and conditions are unpredictable. This top has handled everything flawlessly. Even at highway speeds, it feels incredibly solid, quiet, and secure. You honestly forget you’re running a soft top. One of my favorite features is how quickly I can open or close it. Up in the mountains, that’s critical. I often run it open even in winter conditions and just close it when needed. It has held up perfectly even on rough, bumpy trails with no issues open or closed. I’ve seen comments about it not laying flat when open, but in my experience, it has been perfect and I have never had to think about it. What impresses me most is how solid and tight everything still feels after years of heavy use. It has absolutely been worth the investment. I would buy this again in a heartbeat, whether for another Jeep or if I ever needed to replace this one. For reference, my Jeep is a 2-door, and our company also runs a fleet of Jeeps for tours and rentals. Several of them also use Bestop products, including one of our 4 doors has the NX glide. So good. Highly, highly recommended.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Black diamond vs black twill?**
A: The black diamond is more shiny, it has a bumpy texture to it, like the texture of a basketball. The black twill is black inside and out, its the same material you see on luxury vehicles, like BMW's and Mercedes, that are convertibles.

**Q: how difficult is it to remove the whole top for those sunny days?**
A: This is not a convertible top but it can be removed in about 15 minutes with a cordless drill driver and 2 people

**Q: Does this fit a 4 dr jeep wrangler sahara jl 2020?**
A: Yes! Bought this for my daughter’s 2020 JL four-door....Great top...

**Q: This top is for the JL 2 door correct? Just want to make sure as 4 door is pictured.**
A: The part number 5686235 is for the 2 door JL, yes. I've reached out to Amazon to correct the image, thank you for bringing this to my attention, I appreciate it!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice top but the description could be better.
*by B***L on August 6, 2022*

I like the top for what it is. But somehow I missed that it's not a full convertible top. Maybe a clearer description telling that this is a front seat flip back only. Overall though it does the job. It makes a nice "safari style" top. Installation is not bad. The rear snaps are the hardest part of the install to get snapped for me.
