Depression, anxiety and stress are so commonplace these days. 5% of the adult population suffers from some or other form of mental agitation, on a clinical level, and it appears to many, that peace of mind is a thing of the past. However, nothing is further from the truth! You can regain your peace of mind and it starts with re-empowering yourself! For many people, they are suffering so much that allopathic medications become a necessary evil. While allopathic medications have their place, in mental health relief, they are only a short-term solution. If you want a long-term solution then read this book. It covers a wide range of herbal remedies, which can both reduce the dependence on allopathic medications and also act as a preventative, in the case of people who are feeling some of the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression. These herbal remedies act as natural anti-depressants and anxiolytics, whereby you get the relief from the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression, but you get very few side effects, which cannot be said for allopathic medications. While allopathic medications can be effective in the short-term, in the long-term they produce a plethora of side effects which often result both in a weakening of the immunity system and physical health, as well as resulting in chemical dependency issues! Herbs on the other hand also produce relief from the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression, but they rarely produce any negative effects on either immunity or physical health and also they donโt produce chemical dependency issues! Furthermore, this is not just a book about herbal remedies, rather it also gives you a detailed overview as to the nature of stress, anxiety and depression and some really useful strategies for re-empowering yourself. Allopathic medications are a stop gap with strong side effects while herbal remedies are a stop gap with weak side effects, but ultimately they are both short-term solutions. The real way to use these short-term solutions is to use them as a crutch, which will give you some relief from symptoms, while you get your life in order. How then do you get your life in order? You can do this through self-responsibility. This book gives an overview as to how you can regain your power through self-responsibility. While this book is not a cure all (in that it is not a full-fledged do-it-yourself mental health book), it does provide some really helpful suggestions. It provides an overview of the nature of depression, anxiety and stress in chapter one and how to become more responsible and self-empowered in chapter three, while the herbal remedies are outlined in chapter two. Read this book and you will definitely find some helpful herbal remedies and suggestions, which will help you to reduce your dependency upon drugs and also reignite your inner power! Review: Herbs for Depression and Anxiety - I am a RN for 54 years now and am always interested in healthy ways to help silliness. I got this book to find ways to help my granddaughter combat depression and anxiety. I think this has very useful info for her. She is on several meds and is going to counseling. Her first big decision to help her self was to ask if she could come live with me to get away from her over controlling and verbally abusive father and step mother. I would help her in any way possible. She is doing well but continues to have occasional nightmares and anxiety attacks. I hope she will try some of the herbal teas to promote sleep any help lessen her anxiety. She knows she is safe with me and many miles from her father. She has a good supportive family with me and her two uncles. Her youngest brother has came to live with us also when he turned 18 and was able to leave home legally. Very good information to take control of life and not allow someone else control you. Thank You. Review: A quick yet informative book. - A quick yet informative book. It was written in clear and concise language. I've never made a tincture - but maybe one day. I think he should emphasize that some people really need to stay on their medication; however, he did stress that he is not a medical professional. But otherwise I like what he had to say . I read this on a kindle.

Fun read full of helpful tips
I have heard several times that there are natural ways to heal anxiousness. When I saw this book, I immediately got it but was not able to read it on the same date because I've been too busy at work. Thank goodness, I have the time now, and got the chance to go over it. Through this book I discovered the different medicinal herbs that I can use when my anxiety attacks.

Okay but left me wanting more
The book was just okay to me. I was expecting something more or new, not the same herbs that I'm familiar with. He had brief explanations for Kava kava, St. John's Wort, Valerian, Passionflower, Chamomile, Green tea, Lavender, Catnip, Fennel, Ashwagandha, Ginkgo Biloba, and Lemon Balm. For herbal newbies, he did describe detailed procedures to make teas and tinctures which was helpful. Again, if a person is new to the various herbs that could help with depression and anxiety, then this book is instructional and a good springboard to delve deeper. But, for me, if I had a do over, I wouldn't have purchased it.

Pretty good
Was a little technical in the beginning but interesting. A must read if considering trying herbs for depression and/or anxiety.

Not worth $ but was good for a free read.
You have to get over 44% through the book before it actually starts talking about the information of the herbs by themselves. Another thing that was a little disappointing was that there were no photos of the herbs and what they look like. Also on a few of them, instead of teaching you how to harvest and prepare the plants. It simply just tells you to buy it in pill form or powder already made; probably ordering it on amazon. There was a few miss spelling errors too that couldโve been found easy if it was doubled checked. I did however learn about two new plants that I didnโt know about so that was one plus.
