Switching to a steel litter box is a game changer. It doesn’t absorb odors the way plastic does. Granted, I’m diligent about scooping daily, but I think it’s a big improvement over plastic. Nice quality, and easy to hose down for a thorough cleaning. Worth the price.

If you’re looking for a great product that doesn’t break the bank, these cat boxes are amazing and they’re large enough for my 18 pound cat. We’ve been using 3 of these high quality litter boxes for the last 9 months. They have exceeded my expectations and I can attest to the durability and solid construction as well as the quality of the stainless steel. There are very minimal scratches from the cats claws on the bottom, it still almost looks new. It’s very easy to use with clumping clay litter and a simple Petmate plastic scooper. The interior surfaces are rounded making it easy to scoop from and clean and the clumps are not sticking to the bottom at all. I’ve scrubbed it monthly with a scotchbrite sponge and unscented dishwashing liquid and it cleans perfectly with zero remaining smells or staining. We were having a lot of issues with previous plastic litter boxes; they always smelled and the gouges in the plastic from their claws attracted insects but these Ohm boxes have been a game changer! Highly recommended.

We have two adult cats in our home and only one good place to put their litter box. The ones that we bought from the stores here in our town were small and made from plastic. They just weren’t big enough and the cats kicked the litter all over the place. This was a game changer for us. It’s super deep and made of solid metal. It’s big enough you can put an entire value jug of litter in there at a time and still have room for even more if you really needed it. The litter stays in it very well and the clean up is very easy. Some kitty litter boxes the litter sticks to the sides and bottom and you can’t get it off. The plastic ones also seem to absorb the smell of the litter box and you can’t wash it enough to get rid of it. This litter pan doesn’t have those problems at all. I don’t hardly have to wash or scrub it. The litter scooper removed all the litter including the parts that are wet and touching the sides and bottom. Put litter back in and you are good to go! VERY nice product!

Although priced a bit high, this litter box is nothing less than outstanding. It is amazingly lightweight (without litter, of course), but is very sturdy and completely nonstick on the inside. Before I ordered it I searched out all kinds of metal boxes to replace the former plastic storage boxes I had been using. Plastic, unfortunately, is not recyclable; in addition, it picks up odors at some point regardless of how often it is cleaned. I measured the current plastic box and it was exactly the same size as this so I knew it would work. My two current cats keep to the box size and do not spread litter outside but if your cat is vigorous about covering up this box may not work because the sides are six inches high. I did write to the company and suggest they also offer boxes with 8-9 inch sides. They said I wasn't the first to ask and they were considering it. (I wonder why; it seems there is a need for it and you'd think any company would want to take advantage of a consumer need.) So if you need higher sides, contact the company! But if six inches works for you, I can and do recommend this particular box. It is superb! UPDATE: The box itself is incredible. Unfortunately, my cats are getting older and at least one is now standing "taller" to urinate. The six-inch depth is not doing it. Frustrated this morning, I again wrote to the company on their FB page and strongly suggested they offer 12-inch sides on three sides. Then I came on Amazon to look around some more at plastic just because I am so desperate. Wonder of wonders, I found something that looks exactly like what I want: iPrimio Ultimate Stainless Steel Cat XL Litter Box ($60). It is steel, at least the box is, and it has a detachable top that adds six more inches to the three sides. It has been ordered and will be here in two days. I will review that of course. I really hope it works. Now I am considering a mat to help with the litter that sticks in their paws and gets on the floor.

I finally decided to make the switch to stainless steel and I do not regret it. The smell is MUCH more manageable and this is so much easier to clean. I have two cats who are fairly average sized and I feel like the litter box is SLIGHTLY too big. The depth requires I use more litter and I advise to be somewhat generous. If you do not use enough litter when the cats dig they will scratch the bottom and make that annoying noise like nails on a chalkboard. Other then that, I love this litter box. I just hope the Ohm Earth's brand makes an attachment for a cover/side panels to prevent litter flying out! I will have to make my own eventually if nothing is made but zero complaints. No more stained/scratched up plastic litter boxes!!

What a GREAT litter box! Its large, deep and nothing sticks to it. Its very easy to clean and does not absorb any of the litter box odors. I love that it doesn't slide all over the floor. Its very well made with heavy stainless steel and the edge is smooth and very well finished off. It costs a bit more then the plastic ones, but this is so much better for me and the cats because it stays so clean and odor free. What's the point of putting clean litter into a plastic box that smells no matter how well you clean it! I'm getting a second one, since I have 3 cats and 2 litter boxes.

At first I thought this litter pan was amazing! We previously had a large plastic pan that we'd have to scrub to try to get the scent out of it. I like how large this pan is since we have a big rag doll kitty. However, within 30 days we noticed there are some spots that have stained the stainless steel (huh??!!) and no matter what cannot be removed. These spots almost look like they are starting to rust and are becoming harder to clean each time. We have one cat and use lined pee pads in the pan as well. Anyone else having this issue? Super bummed!! UPDATE: despite it being a few days after my return window I decided to contact the company via amazon. They responded immediately! We worked together to show them exactly what the pan looks like as apparently this was the first this has happened. They sent me another replacement which just arrived today. I am really hoping this one works out well!! I'll update on the new one after a few weeks of use in October. Excellent customer service and REALLY appreciate it!!

Product arrived on time. Our 4 month old kittens and I love these boxes (we ended up buying a second one). We use corn litter and it doesn't smell well when contained in plastic litter boxes. Our kittens were not happy with the smell and kept going elsewhere to do their business. We got these steel boxes and there's no more accidents. There's no more bad odour of corn litter and plastic and there's no more bad odour of urine or feces even when kittens do their business on the walls of the steel box. It's changed our lives. Cleaning it is very easy, just add some dish detergent and it looks brand new. Recently we found out our kittens had Giardia so the boxes have had some extreme cleaning in the past weeks where I even used bleached to clean them ontop of dish soap and the steel box still looks brand new. Also, the steel doesn't hold the foul smell of bleach like plastic does, which really surprised me. I've also used vinager to clean it and have used the stain and odour enzyme remover for pets as well. This box is hardcore, still looks brand new and doesn't hold cleaner smells. I recommend this product for anyone with a picky feline friend. Just a note, the steps are not part of the product. We had to add a step to our box as the kittens found it too tall to climb when 8 weeks old. Now at 4 months they don't require the step.

The litter box is large and deep. Litter is kept within the box usually unless your cat kicks up the litter higher than usual. It’s happened once in the last month. Secondly the stainless doesn’t stain from the urine or poops after washing. Really impressed !! Way better than I expected. I will say this litter box was hands down a better purchase over last litter box I purchased that has a sieve bottom for the litter to pass through. If I knew now what I didn’t know then, I would have purchased this box instead of wasting money. Sieve boxes don’t work. When your pet urinates with litter piled over the urine, the urine dries up with the litter caked to the bottom of the sieve leaves a mess and requires elbow grease to clean. An old fashioned, elegant litter box, was well worth the purchase. Thought the price was a little high but you pay for what you get with impeccable quality. Love ❤️ it too bits!!

Super solid litter box! Easy to clean, and I feel better that bacteria will not be trapped in the plastic litter box. Seems a lot more sanitary than plastic boxes. The rubber feet are nice, prevents the box from moving around on the floor, and absorbs some of the noise as well! Great litter box, will surely outlive the cats it serves.

I think this is a very functional, super easy litter pan to clean. The stainless inside does not retain odors. For some reason the outside of the pan is painted white over the stainless. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because even after very careful handling and two days use, the white paint peeled in a couple of spots on the bottom corners of the pan. It isn't a deal breaker, but I did pay $94.95 plus tax for it. That was a big disappointment.

We always used stainless steel for our kitties' boxes. The first one we purchased from Centenila Feed Store in Los Angeles because we were tired of replacing plastic bins that absorbed odours and were a pain to clean. This first box is low, only 4", but it was the preferred box for both cats. I couldn't find another one, so we purchased a buffet bin and added a silicone wrap to soften the sharp edges. It worked well enough, but I hated that the edges were sharp--especially as our kittens were 17 & 16 years old. And that is when we saw we could get a stainless steel litter pan in Canada. We purchased OhmBox and are happy with it. It's been perfect. Our senior cats loved it, too. One recently passed, and we now have two kittens with a 17.5-year-old senior cat. They don't make a mess, and they've been easy to clean. And it has not lost its paint or shown any rust. We will be getting one more. Two OhmBoxes plus the one we bought 16 years ago.
