Fantastic, beautiful sounding instrument with a ton of value.
This is a gorgeous ukulele and is a great value. I did blind sound tests with friends - musicians and non-musicians and they all preferred the sound of this Hricane ukulele over my solid koa wood instrument that is 5 times more expensive. Plus, this instrument is prettier to look at with the gorgeous inlay and open headstock. I am a teacher and performer and I have used this instrument for videos and live performances. My luthier friend believes that the sides and back are solid koa wood. Mine came drilled for straps. The case is the most padded soft gig bag I have encountered. Really heavy duty. The fretts are a little rough on the sides, but I had a friend file them down in just a few minutes. The action is a little higher than I like, but if you are picky - like I am - that can easily be fixed.

Owned for a year. GREAT ukulele
I love this ukulele (Koa). I got it as a beginner instrument, and I can say that it has superior sound quality to other beginner ukus I have seen/heard. The wood finishing is beautiful, it feels solid. Some advanced ukulele Players have told me it's got a great build and sound. It can stay in tune a couple of days once the strings are set, which is great. 20/10

Wonderful Ukulele for the Money
I love my new ukulele! I'm a beginner and have had a few issues, but they were due to my ignorance. Thank goodness for the internet and YouTube videos which taught me how to successfully replace the E string I snapped the first time I tuned it. Gah! It has to be tuned each time before playing, but the internet says that is normal too. The instrument is beautiful. I love the wood color and design around the hole and top edge of the body. My only disappointment is the tuner won't tune the C string. G, E, and A all come in bright green, but you never even see the C string show up in the meter display. I have to go to YouTube to tune that key. I'm delighted with the quality of the padded carrying case and the neck strap is silky smooth. I'm very pleased with my purchase. I just wish the dang tuning meter worked. Highly recommend this ukulele.

Super sweet sound and great price
I love this Ukelele. I bought it for a present for a friend of mine and it is sweet. Really nice sounding. Great to have around so his children can get there hands on a string instrument and start playing. It comes with a nice case. Really beautiful instrument. I am very happy with this purchase!

I loved mine so much, I bought one for my sister!
I bought this as an upgrade to my $30 soprano uke that I learned to play on. I LOVED this one so much that I bought my sister the same one when she started saying she wanted one. It is Absolutely Beautiful. The SOUND is amazing (especially when comparing it to my cheapo soprano) Just GLORIOUS! Cannot gush enough about how much I LOVE this instrument!

Abysmal sound and disappointing finish
I am only a beginner with Ukuleles and am not a musician, so I am no expert. This was my second uke purchase from Amazon, and I thought I would be getting a nice aesthetic upgrade from my first one, a Donner DUC-1. The Hricane (why did they have to spell it that way?) is a decent looking uke, but I was less impressed with it in-person than I was by the photos on Amazon. It had a few small bits of debris like sand embedded in the top and other blemishes here and there. I could have tolerated that I guess. But the real problem is the tuners, strings, the musicality for lack of a better word, and the setup. Tuning it was very difficult and time consuming. I think I had all four strings of my Donner tuned in the time it took me to tune one string on this uke. I don't have enough experience to know why exactly I had so much trouble. I think it was a combination of the tuners and strings. Once I got it in tune, the tune seemed to drift all over the place, higher and lower - it was just weird. All new nylon strings will stretch - that's expected, but this was terrible. Anyway, once I got it to hold tune for a minute I tried strumming a few chords - wow that's when things went from bad to worse. One string, the third (C) I believe, would buzz like crazy, so I think the setup might have been off, but it also may have been something about the resonance in the body. I played with it for about 20 minutes retuning and trying different things, until I put it down and told my wife "I hate this thing" and "if this was my first ukulele, I would have given up and tried taking up painting instead". It wasn't just the buzzing of the one string - the ukulele simply sounded like (maybe worse than) a child's toy guitar you might get for fifteen bucks at the county fair. It doesn't sound like an actual musical instrument. The price for this puts it solidly into the beginning ukulele player's territory, but I'm afraid that it might turn off any would-be learners. It looks nice and somehow the reviews are mostly pretty great, but I sure got a lemon. My Donner DUC-1 is very simple in looks by comparison, but it sounds WORLDS better and is simply fun and even a bit addictive to play. I'd recommend checking that one out instead, and it's cheaper too. Ultimately, I think local music stores are a much better bet than buying this sort of thing online. At least there you could try different ukes and get valuable opinions from staff.

Compact in hands.
It looks and sounds very good for the price. My wife always grabs a uke whenever we visit the big box guitar shops and I figured I'd spring for one this Christmas. The build quality seems to be very good for a mass produced instrument. It smells good too, so bonus. The only drawback is that I also purchased a small uke strap to hold it but due to the pineapple shape, it won't stay in place properly so I stuck a 3M cord clip on the bottom and it works okay now. If you've never played one before, I would say this is a nice, solid intro to ukuleles. Find the Ukulele App and get to town.

Looks and plays great- weird strings.
The design and texture for this is beautiful and lightweight. It works really well and holds a note better than all the other ukuleles I’ve gotten for the first few days. My only concern was that the strings had a sort of film on them that made them hard to pick and slide around on. I was able to get the film off but it took a little while, it does come with backup strings though.

Beautiful ukulele, comes with everything you need, awesome value
I really appreciate the quality of this ukulele! This feels like a cross between a guitar and a soprano uke. Louder and bigger than a soprano uke. This concert uke produces beautiful sounds and can sustain a note well. Great quality Koa, lightweight, simple nice design. Lovely lining by the edges. I’m also happy with the bundle — extra strings, pick, capo, strap and a guitar tuner. The guitar tuner is really useful because I can’t tune by ear. Glad that I didn’t have to buy the tuner separately, I had to tune this a lot because of the new strings. The storage bag included also has excellent quality. Durable and well padded, even has a thick padding to support the neck. It also has straps that can be used as a backpack. Highly recommend this ukulele, so much fun to use!

Quality at the right price.
I’m a beginner on uke but play a few other instruments, so thought I was too much of a snob to start at the real budget end! I read and watched and listened to reviews by people who know a lot more than me and this little uke ticked all the boxes that concerned me. I’ve had it a month or so now and the strings are settling in. I’m really enjoying this cute little instrument. It’s easy to play a few chords to feel like you’re getting somewhere and it’s so very portable. The timber finish is nice and the bag is sturdy and looks good. Tone is better than expected. Altogether, I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

Beau
Bon son, parait de bonne qualité, solide, et il est beau en plus. Belle finition. Juste il faut l’accorder chaque fois, mais c’est facile
