This game is Hard as F***!!!
I really like this Game & one of the reasons i bought it is cause it's a game i had when i was a kid, the Funny thing is that i would of thought my parents would never have let me play this Game but as a kid i had A lot of Fun games & last year i was curious to why my Parents had bought me a Game like Friday the 13th so i asked my Mom and she told me that my Dad went to California when i was a kid and he had bought a bunch of random games from some guy and i'm glad my Dad was lucky enough to get some Good games like this one cause although this game may be pretty difficult it can be Fun, other Games my Dad had gotten me were Castlevania 1 & 2, Double Dragon, Bubble Bobble, All 3 Mario Bros games, Ninja Gaiden, The Teenage Mutant ninja turtles games & i just love all those games I'm 19 Now & i have all those, i try and play them as much as i can & I'm one of those people that is Never going to sell them. And i received Friday The 13th in almost Perfect Condition only problem is that there's writing on the back but I'm gonna try to see if i can clean it off, plus i got it 1 Day earlier then expected which is Cool. :)

Awesome Game
This game is very challenging and takes a while to get the hang of it; however, it is now my ultimate favorite NES game. I absolutely love it. You can switch between six counselors while trying to defeat Jason and his mom. You have to find weapons, keys, notes, medicine, and other goodies while entering the cave, forests, trails and lake area. This is pretty tough to do while Jason kills your kids and counselors non-stop. If you buy this game, here is a tip: If you use a counselor to go to the cabin just outside and above the cave road, you will find a note that directs you to the torch in a cabin by the lake. You can do this for numerous counselors until you all have this TOP weapon of the game. Good luck!

This game could be more fun if it was a little easier.
I recently bought a console that plays NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis games and one game i had in mind that i couldn't wait to get was Friday the 13th. I remember this game from when i was a kid but i guess i forgot how hard it was. I don't remember it being that hard when i was younger but it is hard to me now!! LOL. The copy i purchased is in great condition. It looks brand new. So, i was disappointed when i popped it in and it didn't work. I ended up getting another copy for 1/3 the price and no shipping that works great. I wont purchase another video game online again. Lesson learned.

This game sucks
its really bad even for LJN standards, I mean the only thing worse then this is the nightmare on elm street game and am I the only one weirded out by the fact that little kids die in this, I think it's a rule in the movies that Jason can't kill little kids .

Friday the 13th is challenging but ultimately not very much fun to play through.
Friday the 13th for the NES video game was kind of an odd 1 player side scrolling game. This game was not outright unplayable in fact it did have some interesting ideas and a big campsite to explore. The problem is the game does not really give you any idea of what to do or where to go unless Jason is attacking somewhere. The controls were kind of clunky and out of the 6 camp counselors 2 of them really sucked George and Pam. The goal was to make it through 3 days at Camp Crystal Lake and beat Jason 3 times. Each time you beat him the game cycles to the next day and Jason becomes faster and harder to kill. The good news is that each day your party of counselor’s health goes back to full life if they had been injured but not killed. The average gamer will easily get frustrated with this game and not finish it. The game does have a strong challenge and is definitely not a cupcake. I only beat the game 1 time and the ending was disappointing considering how hard I worked to finish it. I basically had a marathon session going similar to Ninja Gaiden when you get to the final level and there is no turning back. The game didn't have any kind of password or battery save feature which really hurt the replay value of the game. The game does succeed in having scary moments where Jason pops out of nowhere in a house or on the trail when the zombies start walking away from you. The game also has a lot of items to find and explore elements. The forest is basically a maze and a map of it would have really helped the game. Also the cave area seemed to be another maze but you could fight Jason’s mother’s head which looked like Medusa and get the axe or machete for beating her. You had to constantly check the map to see where you were and where an attack was taking place. Also Jason could attack you on the open trail making it much harder to dodge his attacks which are different than indoors. The weapons in the game were rocks, dagger, machete, axe, and fire/torch. It could take forever to upgrade to one of the better weapons and it was easy to jump over a zombie and accidently downgrade your weapon back to the dagger. You do get a health tank for killing 15 to 20 zombies or so. But why you are killing zombies Jason pops up somewhere and you have to hurry to the site before he kills your kids or counselors. The torch does the most damage to Jason and is really your lifeline to the game swap that item between counselors and you can kill Jason much more quickly. By defeating Jason's mother's head you can also acquire these special weapons each day you beat her an axe, sweater and Pitchfork. The trick to beating the game is basically to get the torch as soon as possible by lighting 4 fireplaces with a lighter in empty houses in the right order from a series of notes left in cabins. Keep Mark and Crissy alive for as long as possible and swap out counselors who are low on health and give them health bottles when you find them. I basically avoid the cave altogether, because if you get stuck in the forest or cave you will not have enough time to make it back to a house where Jason is attacking. The hardest section to beat Jason is when he is in the cabin out in the lake. You will end up taking damage from him as he attacks you on the water repeatedly before you make it to the cabin. If you have a counselor who sucks at rowing you are screwed. This is especially true during the 2nd and 3rd day when you have lost some of your best counselors IE Mark or Heather. During that last stage you really have to weigh is it worth saving those kids in the middle of the lake or taking the damage to your counselor getting to them.Overall it is not a horrible game, just not very much fun to play through. It is very frustrating at times when you are going the wrong way especially. I bought this when I was very young and had a choice to buy Super Mario Bros 2 but chose Friday the 13th instead because my brother and I were horror movie fans and the cover looked cool, obviously I made a very foolish choice. This is one of those games when you finally beat it you never want to pick it up again. I would rate this game 2 ½ stars and recommend it for diehard gamers only.Gameplay: 5/10Play Control: 6/10Story/Originality: 7/10Challenge: 10/10Replay Value: 3/10

Jason game
Still the same game that I remember from the 90's. lol I have a Retro Duo so I've been collecting all the Nintendo games I used to play. If you're doing the same thing, this is a must have for any 90's kid at heart!
