As I am a blacksmith and would have been able to make a new wheelchair from scratch, this did not cause me any real difficulty. If your hole pattern does not match, you will need to remove the two metal support straps from the inside of your old seat and back rest and replace the ones that came with the new parts. You will also need a carpenter's awl or similar sharp pointed implement to punch holes in the material to match the original holes. Once this has been accomplished, it assembles easily enough. If you can change the oil on your car by yourself, you probably have the proper skill set to do this kind of repair, if you were told to fetch a left-handed screw driver and would go looking for one, you probably need help. The holes in the new arm rests did match the originals. In addition to the carpenter's awl mentioned above, you will need a Phillips head screw-driver and possibly a pocket-knife to open the package. What I got was the seat only. And.....the holes do NOT match with the measurements described (which are the right measurements) So, I cannot attached the seat that was sent without drilling holes in the metal frame.
