He's a 2nd grader and its the perfect difficultly for him as an above average 2nd grader reader. Review: Love this series - My 8yo daughter loves this series. We have three of them. The stories are fun and at her level ( 2nd - 3rd grade). They are quirky and not the typical fairy tale stories. The illustrations are bold and colorful and draw the child into the story. Would highly recommend.
