D'Addario XL Nickel Bass Guitar Strings 45-135, 5-String Set

A good solid string. I use these on my 5 string that I tune down as far as a whole step. Even tone, and not too hard on the fingers.

Love these strings! They do not last as long as I would like but I gig a lot and I am greasy. Excellent balanced sound with a smoking B that sounds clean and intonates right on pitch even on a 34" scale. I play many different styles including country, metal, classic rock, blues, tejano, jazz, just everything and these strings paired up with a quality bass can nail virtually every tone. I use them on a Fender Jazz 5 and they are the only strings I use now. If your on the road and can't get anything shipped from Amazon virtually every guitar store sells D'Addario so I'm usually in the clear (correct gauge is what I'm worried about). I would at least try them, everyone has a different preference but these get a solid thumbs up from me.

D'Addario strings never fail. These are my go-to strings for my bass. Strings produce a solid bright sounds and has the sound I am looking for slap bass.

I'm getting ready to install my third set of the these strings. I love them; they sound great on my Carvin basses.

Replaced a set of the same string that had lost brightness due to age. Super disappointed to find that they had a dull, kind of muffled sound, less bright than the three month old strings I was replacing. Not sure whether they are defective or an illegitimate copy or some other issue. I’ve played these strings for decades, so I definitely know what they’re supposed to sound like. Even not plugged in, the dull tone was immediately evident.

I believe that these are the smoothest round wound strings you can buy which is ideal for me as I used flatwounds for a number of years. I usually get about 10-12 4 hour gigs out of them before they need changed. I've tried everything else and nothing comes close in terms of sound, feel, longevity and price

Corde con rapporto qualità prezzo altissimo. Morbide al tocco (grazie al nickel) mi hanno fatto trovare subito il giusto feeling. Sustain medio-buono, ottima la brillantezza generale e la corposità dei bassi (il DO al primo tasto della Quinta corda è un cazzotto). Anche nello slap si dimostrano percussive ed elastiche nonostante ci siano senz'altro marche e misure (0,35/0,40) più adatte a questo stile. Le monto su un Ibanez SR1205EL Premium (e anche questo senz'altro aiuta). Straconsigliate al neofita così come al professionista.
