Anthology for Musical Analysis

Terrible paper
This book was purchased for a music theory course at the college level. We will be doing a great deal of score analysis and, for that, this book is awful because the shiny paper is absolutely terrible to write on in pencil. The paper is slick and pencil is hard to see on it - and I've tried multiple lead types. When you erase there are indentations left in the paper and smudges from the eraser. I've started copying the pages we're using so I can actually write on them and see what I've written.

FYI: The publisher sells the companion DVD separately
A note:The back cover mentions a DVD-ROM but doesn't come with the book. This is apparently sold separately by the publisher (Cengage), ISBN-13: 9780495916109

Bad condition, good content
I gave it 3 stars because of the condition... It came with tape on the front and damage along the spiral binding. The content is good but it came a little more damaged than I expected.

Great for studying music theory
Recently purchased this book for my music theory class. A little pricey, but you get a lot for your money. This anthology covers all time periods and different levels of popularity. Most anthologies just include the pieces you hear all the time. I like that this one included those and some composers' lesser known works. GOOD BUY
