Explore the history of first century Jews from the eyewitness account of Flavius Josephus, legendary Jewish historian. His extra-biblical account offers fascinating historical context to enhance your study of primeval Jewish, Christian, and Roman history. Within this stunning, six book compilation is an invaluable narrative filling in the gaps of otherwise unknown cultural and political details of Israel's ancient civilization. Flavius Josephus counseled Pharisees on Jewish law from a very early age. His perspective of the Jewish Roman war is truly unique. Josephus scandalously survived the destruction of Jerusalem, became Roman, and was later despised by Jews as a traitor. Yet he is the acclaimed historian of this critical era of Christian history answering questions you didn't know you needed to ask. This beautifully bound hardcover edition of our earliest history has the look and feel of antiquity. It is an exquisite reproduction of an original, circa - 1850 printing. The thick, crisp, parchment-like paper, vintage font, page layout and drawings offer you the feeling of an authentic rare book in your hands. Could any library be complete without it? The Complete Works of Flavius Josephus, the Jewish Historian as translated by William Whiston includes: Antiquities of the Jews History of the Jewish Wars Sequel to the History of the Jewish Wars Flavius Josephus against Apion The Life of Flavius Josephus Three Dissertations on Jesus Christ, Abraham, John the Baptist, and James the Just The first church historian, Eusebius, calls Flavius Josephus "the most famous Jew of his time." His writings provide us with prized details that did not survive in any other records. Your study of his exceptional assessment of Israel's history will bring critical insight to the last two millennia of world events. Review: A Necessary Companion - This book by Flavius Josephus is a MUST companion to THE BIBLE ... . Huge book
Hard to read at times with all the Jewish and Roman names. But that was to be expected. This book is HUGE, look at the dimensions.

An absolute must have for the serious researcher
I enjoy purchasing books that I can use to prove the truth of the scriptures. This book was absolutely new and still in it's plastic shrinkwrap! The service was insanely fast (overnight) although I didn't specifically pay for such fast delivery. This is a huge book, which contains ALL of Flavius Josephus' works. He writes from Creation to about 100AD. So he was there when the church began after the LORDS death (ActsII). I would certainly purchase more books from this seller.

Great book. All that I expected from that book
Great book. All that I expected from that book. Great illustrations. It needs a table of contents, but I was able to download one and keep it inside the book.

Reproduction of Flavius Josephus
Wow! I'm impressed great reprint of the original, I found art work impressive although black and white. The feel is as of an old text from centuries past. The only thing about if that makes it a difficult study guide is no table of contents as with the original. Also, you will find it has no chapters and verses are not marked. I have a new version which is helpful in the use of it. You can mark chapters yourself and I see where the verses start there is a gap 3/16" I intend to apply verse numbers in. All in all it is like a walk back in time through history, and a well valued addition to my library, you may want to add it to yours, It goes well with my 1611 KJV Bible. God bless. Sincerely, Rev. Joseph

Beatiful Book Inside and Out. Wealth of Information
Extremely nice, beautiful book. Well worth the money. I only wish, I was able to find more books that are as nice inside and out as this one, as well as the wealth of great information and history. Every bible studying and believer should read the Complete Works of Josephus

Impressive!
This book has a look that would fit in with a collection of older books. The many bookplates are beautiful and extremely detailed. Very happy to add it to my collection.

Very nice book. Looks "old-fashioned" with deckle edges
Very nice book. Looks "old-fashioned" with deckle edges. Audio version of "Jewish Wars" by Josephus also available on Audible (narrated by Charlton Griffin). Matching this translation.
