The Complete Works of Flavius Josephus - Legendary Jewish Historian and His Chronicle of Ancient History

This book by Flavius Josephus is a MUST companion to THE BIBLE ... . This excellent piece of work provides important, additional information to classic biblical stories that further explains characters, actions, and situations. Furthermore, the footnotes provide accurate geographical and anthropological references. I am very happy to read and own it!

Is a BEAUTY of a book right here!!! Let...me...tell...you. Very hefty in size. I don’t know why but the bigger the book...the better. I just get all ‘giddy and candy-store kiddish like’. Everyone should treasure books. Think tha’ movie: ‘Equilibrium’—it could happen one day you know. The banning of such ‘taken for granted’ treasure(s). One day—(as a Christian ‘somewhat’ collector)—I’m going to splurge and treat myself to my dream of a KJ-Bible. King James Bible. NOT...version. THE: 1611 King James Bible - Deluxe Facsimile 400th Anniversary Edition. It comes in at a ‘baby Dino’ of a Bible of —30 pounds!!!!! Anyway, I had the ‘regular’ Josephus print. You know— the common black one you see listed here but when I saw this one listed—I thought—hm...”what a beautiful book. why didn’t I see that one before”??? I decided to go ahead and ordered it after about 2 days And yes—it looked huge! For some reason I hadn’t checked the ‘specs’ until a week later (as it took a while to get) but I really was not expecting what I received! Happy, Happy—JOY...JOY!!!! You guys already see pictures that people posted but can I tell you that this book feels ‘weirdly’....‘funty’...GOOD?!!?!!! It has that ‘Tencel’ material feel (fellow female sewers—you get what I’m carvin’)—it’s feels like....like.... ‘PEACH fuhhhhhzzzzz’. And NO people...I’m a Christian. I know it sounds like it but—I DO NOT... caress my book when no one is lookin’. ☺️ Where was I? Oh—yes yes yes. While I was reading the ‘former’ copy of Josephus that I had, I am a visual person so I do prefer (where possible) artwork work, pictorials etc. as they encourage me push through ‘difficult reads’ at times. Yes—I have one of THOOOSE....brains. Anyway, get this edition. The paper printed on—is very heavy stock (which means no ‘ghosting’), printing is VERY clear & pretty dark with a decent enough font. Maybe a 12pt. Though—I still need my peepers. Check tha’ specs if that’s a deciding factor. The art work could be a bit darker...maybe...but it’s still beautiful to look upon. The binding seems solid and construction is ‘complete’. Meaning—everything glued down and perfectly. No binding threads loose. Added bonus—‘Flavius Josephus’ name...is ‘raised’ lettering. Rich Colors and treatment is beautifully ‘antiqued’ giving you the appearance of an expensive, rare...book. One that you scoured some dingy, dusty Thrift store and unexpectedly discovered it sticking out from under some ugly, moldy carpets. You snatched it up and ran to the register as quick as possible! Why? Cause you believe, you’ve found something...special. That’s what THIS—looks like. It IS...an ‘outside biblical resource’ Josephus is—but don’t be afraid to read it for ‘some’ historical understanding on the Biblical Narratives. I used to be that chic. Don’t...don’t be her. Just pray for choice in choosing them and know what your reading. Anyhoo.... I will be happily engaged to read and learn from this to help with my more in-depth studies of The Most High GOD’s Word. Hard to read at times with all the Jewish and Roman names. But that was to be expected. This book is HUGE, look at the dimensions.

I enjoy purchasing books that I can use to prove the truth of the scriptures. This book was absolutely new and still in it's plastic shrinkwrap! The service was insanely fast (overnight) although I didn't specifically pay for such fast delivery. This is a huge book, which contains ALL of Flavius Josephus' works. He writes from Creation to about 100AD. So he was there when the church began after the LORDS death (ActsII). I would certainly purchase more books from this seller.

Great book. All that I expected from that book. Great illustrations. It needs a table of contents, but I was able to download one and keep it inside the book.

Wow! I'm impressed great reprint of the original, I found art work impressive although black and white. The feel is as of an old text from centuries past. The only thing about if that makes it a difficult study guide is no table of contents as with the original. Also, you will find it has no chapters and verses are not marked. I have a new version which is helpful in the use of it. You can mark chapters yourself and I see where the verses start there is a gap 3/16" I intend to apply verse numbers in. All in all it is like a walk back in time through history, and a well valued addition to my library, you may want to add it to yours, It goes well with my 1611 KJV Bible. God bless. Sincerely, Rev. So glad to get a copy in English. My grandmother had one in German. Now I can relate to some of here knowledge.

Extremely nice, beautiful book. Well worth the money. I only wish, I was able to find more books that are as nice inside and out as this one, as well as the wealth of great information and history. Every bible studying and believer should read the Complete Works of Josephus

This book has a look that would fit in with a collection of older books. The many bookplates are beautiful and extremely detailed. Very happy to add it to my collection.

Nice cover and wonderful aesthetic images. Unfortunately there are complete paragraphs missing and edited out!! This version is not for scholars!

Very nice book. Looks "old-fashioned" with deckle edges. Audio version of "Jewish Wars" by Josephus also available on Audible (narrated by Charlton Griffin). Matching this translation.
