Great book
I bought it after reading walnut and steel book one. Just as good as the first with all new/different reviews.

I very much enjoyed the book. Photos - Not so much
I really enjoyed reading this book and learning about several models of .22's that I own or would like to own. My only disappointment is that it is very hard to make out detail in the black and white photographs. I can only assume that the Amazon printed (the same day it was delivered) book loses some of the contrast possibly due to the paper being used. In the first volume of the book I could see more detail in the photos. While it's always nice to see the photos of what is being described on the same page, I think I would have prefered seeing a consolidated photo section on better quality paper and in color. Maybe in a revised edition?

I think it’s safe to say these are by far the best books on vintage rimfire rifles out there
I’ve wasted a lot of money and time on books that just didn’t deliver the goods. When it comes to the topic covered in these two books, I found them to be a valuable addition to my library. Regarding other books that promised to cover what these do, there was good information to be found in some, others were a total disappointment. Too many were the equivalent of a steaming diaper load. I’m glad I bought these, my buddy is going to have me pick up a pair for his library.

For the traditional firearms aficionado!
Great read on traditional 22 rifles of the American sportsman. A must have for those of us that are sick of plastic firearms and long for the quality, traditional guns of yesteryear. Blued steel and walnut firearms are beautiful! I have both book volumes and enjoyed them. They are destined to be in my reference library from now on, true classics and are very well written.

This book and it's predecessor are very informative for the everyday collector who appreciates finely made classic 22s and does not want to get caught up in the "collectable merry go round".
