My old pair did not have a velcro strap. I ordered these large and although just a little snug, the velcro strap is a great feature that will keep them fitting well over time.The padding is great and they were very comfortable.I also use them for weight lifting. My free weight bar is rough on the hands and the gloves really help.I won't lift weights without them now.Consider the size carefully before your order.These sport gloves have really helped me.
