The shops wanted $600-$700 to fix, which is roughly the value of the car at this point (has a couple other issues). After changing the oil the leak got worse and I decided to give this a try as a last resort. It quickly worked to reduce the leak to a slow drip, instead of a steady trickle when the engine was hot & running. I've driven about 500 city miles with this stuff; the instructions say drive 300 miles and add another bottle if necessary. I'm going to add another one and see what happens! Bottom line - it makes sense to try Bar's Leaks if your old clunker has a leak that isn't worth the cost of repair. I did have to spend $150 for a new serpentine belt because the leak had saturated it with oil and it began to fray.
