High quality enclosure with lots of features
Purchased this to keep my first colony of beetles. I decided I wanted to have live plants and living soil to support the colony and for a more natural look. I dove into the world of isopods and it has been a blast learning about insect keeping and how to provide for that ecosystem. In order to conveniently accomplish this I needed a water tight base, air flow and an access point. This unit really delivers on that and has a nice aesthetic. This unit is nicer that the competitors at a cheaper price point per my research and use of this unit. I'm glad my research in advance confirmed this is the right one for my purposes and price point. Overall pros / cons: Pros: - water proof base to ensure watered soil, plants, etc stays in. This can help maintain some humidity if you seal up some vents. - Tons of vents for air flow - great if this is what you need for whatever you're housing. (see con below) - Looks great - top feeding ports (I have not utilized these myself but could be really handy if you don't want to open the entire front door) - space saving shape (as opposed to any other slanted walls on a critter box or larger framed units) Con: - Depending on your needs this could provide too much air flow. The entire top is vented with 3/4 metal mesh of high quality and 1/4 plastic venting with feeding ports. I actually wanted to maintain more humidity and my critters do not require much airflow so I covered with plastic wrap. I also needed to seal up the vents to avoid / minimize a fungus knat infestation I was fighting in my houseplants at the time. Other points: The latch is secure to the door. I did see some reviews commenting on the latch but I have not had any issues. It does take a two handed approach which if you're holding food to add to the enclosure it can be challenging but you learn to use it as is and becomes a natural action after a while.

Great for Tarantulas
Perfect for two of my younger tarantulas. Both came preassembled in nice packaging, no chips or cracks, just the tiniest little scratch on the back of one but it didn't matter anyway because I cover the backs in black tape to see the spiders better. Keep in mind this size of terrarium (8x8x8) is only suitable for small invertebrates and maybe micro geckos, nothing else. I’d be hesitant using it as a grow-out enclosure for other reps too, just because it’s very small. Still great for what I needed, they stack very nicely as well.

Love the door.
It arrived in perfect condition. Everything about it is perfect. I love the door. It makes cleaning and feeding so easy. I love that I don't have to stick my hand in the top and struggle to clean. The latch on the door is easy to operate. My snails have plenty of space to explore.

Nice for jumping spiders if you mod it a bit.
I'm using this for a jumping spider. It works fine for a medium to adult size, but the gap between the door and it's wall it just wide enough that a small enough spider could slip through if it wanted to, or some gnats. The gnats and or flightless fruit flies can also get through the screen on the top, so watch out if you plan on using them for feed. Then there is a tiny hole in the top on the back side that could let something like a small tube go through, and most any jumping spider could likely get through this. I blocked mine up, and it hasn't been an issue.

Solid choice
I've used several vivarium/terrarium setups like this in past. None of them are perfect. A few pros and cons regarding this one specifically: Pros: - Single pane of glass on the front allows for clear viewing - Solid construction and no damage during shipping - The size I needed. It's small, but perfect for my pet (orchid mantis) Cons: - Door is difficult to open. Not like I cannot open it, but it's just not ergonomic. I have to use both hands and fiddle with it for 2 seconds rather than it being natural. - Not fruit fly proof. Actually none of the competitors are either. I covered the feeding port and ventilation holes with electrical tape (black) and siliconed the seams around the door then used a razor blade to cut through the silicone so the door can move freely again. Don't worry about ventilation because there is still a huge screen on the top to allow for that. All in, I think it's one of the best on the market and certainly available with Prime shipping. I would love to see someone solve the issues mentioned above but they can be fixed or dealt with by the end user.

Take it to the top
Top level caging. Well made, looks great, I make some of my own cages, insects are my interest, and this new terrarium is super, I like the door, no disturbing the tenants. Spend the money, it'll be worth it.

Fantastic, just watch out for the gaps in the top
The unit is sturdy and very well made, and it arrived in excellent condition. It was well packaged and padded correctly. I recommend blocking the little gaps with bits of foam to prevent escape, if you have something that could possibly squeeze through (like a jumping spider). The door is nice and snug, but the latch is rather difficult to operate. As others have said, it requires both hands to open it. I do appreciate the holes in the latch for a twist tie, zip tie, or small padlock- that’s a nice touch, and I like the added security. I recommend getting a small sheet of glass or acrylic to lay across the top (leave a gap for airflow) to help keep the humidity consistent. Otherwise, it tends to dry out pretty quickly. I’m very happy with my purchase. I bought this to make a mini terrarium, and also house a pet jumping spider. It’s perfect for my needs.
