Some of the best Wayne content he ever produced
He was getting towards the end of his life, and it shows...but in a good way. He was more focused, clear, and direct with his message than ever before. The intro is little slow, but once he dives into the chapters, each one builds on the next. And he doesn't disappoint with the payoff in the latter part of the book. If you listen to only one Wayne Dyar audio, let it be this one. Life changing if you allow it.

In years of researching Law of Attraction, this is by far the most serious book on the topic...
...and it's a two-blade sword. It is not for everyone. You need to know at least a little bit about this subject to get it fully. Law of Attraction is a theory that a person can attract (or even manifest) certain phenomena in their life almost just by fine-tuning their thought processes. It's not JUST by tuning thoughts, it's ALMOST JUST by doing so - because by no means can it be "just". Sometimes it's easier to move mountains physically than to change our own way of thinking, so do not be fooled: it's faaaar from easy. The good thing is - it's all in your head, nothing can stop you if you really want to do it. You have all the control, no one can stop you. But easy? No, it's not. A lot, and I mean a LOT has been published on this topic so far. The most popular title is probably "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne, a documentary that puts several ideas about Law of Attraction in a very simple form. However, as Einstein said, things should be kept as simple as possible, but not simpler than that. The Secret will probably get you going if you're a total beginner, but you'll find yourself with a thousand unanswered questions in no time. Wishes Fulfilled by Wayne Dyer is written in a straightforward, but not oversimplified language. It builds up on most all of the literature I've read on the topic so far, so I consider it an advanced title - still, most of the total beginners will be able to follow it, perhaps with some effort occasionally. The Law itself is a challenging concept, as it contradicts with many things we've been taught all our lives - and if you want to write about it, you have to challenge the reader. Wishes Fulfilled is close to a scientific book, as it tackles the topic nearly in a technical way, giving very specific instructions and insights. If you're not prepared (by having read about Law of Attraction before), if you don't have at least some concepts about it already, this book can be hard. But it is, I claim, the first book on this topic that has NO FLUFF. It's dense, it's concrete, it's not sweet (not bitter too)... it's a textbook you learn from. And once you approach it with the right attitude, you'll be rewarded by the beautiful language, diamond-precise sentences and the blinding light of the intellect that wrote it. I sometimes needed to stop just to prolong the moment of pure joy, while feeling how the sentence I've just read is reshaping me, right here, right now. And things will start to happen.

Worth Listening to With An Open Mind
This book is a combination of personal stories including those of the author, and explorations of the application of a number of spiritual and metaphysical writings. I began reading and listening to the book with the intent of taking away what made sense to me, and leaving the rest without judgment. There was much more that I took for further personal exploration than I left behind. Long ago, I read the author's first book, Your Erroneous Zones. It helped me keep a healthier perspective, and yet I did not read any of the other books Wayne Dyer published, not for decades. I simply moved away from self-help type books for a while. Over those decades, Dr. Dyer's focus shifted from psychology to spiritual and metaphysical topics. I can appreciate his decision to write about his changing concerns. Those who interpret the title of this book to mean that it is a how-to guide for fame and fortune and power over others will be disappointed. Those whose outlook is that someone or something external to themselves has all the responsibility for what happens in their lives may not be able to tolerate the premise of the book from the outset. My impression, having read and listened to the entire book, and having listened to more than half of it again, is that Dr. Dyer is reaching out to people who feel drawn to make changes in their lives based on a sense of a divine calling. That divine calling is acknowledged and supported by what has been written here. He notes multiple times that the fulfillment of wishes occurs when several things have happened. First, the wishes he speaks of are not the "Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz" kind of wishes. The wishes he writes of are those that spring from a heart of love and compassion, and a desire to serve others. To even have those kinds of wishes, in my experience, requires what I call spiritual discipline. And there is much about that in this book. For those familiar with the New Testament, perhaps the scripture verse that sums up this point of view best is from John 16:23, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Many sermons have been preached about this "in my name" concept. I won't offer that in this review, other than to write that this is key to the kinds of wishes Wayne Dyer writes of. Another important component to what the author terms "a wishes-fulfilled life" is one's understanding of one's identity. It is difficult for me to encapsulate this part of the book - it receives in entire chapter - but it is a shift from seeing oneself as simply the physical body with certain characteristics and personality, to seeing oneself as so connected to the Divine that one's true self is the Divine. Those whose knee-jerk reaction is to cry "blasphemy" are addressed kindly and directly in the book. Since it is written to a large audience that includes Christians but is not solely for them, there are a number of Biblical references, especially New Testament. At the very least, Wishes Fulfilled: Mastering the Art of Manifesting points out that each person has the choice to be more intentional in the way they use their minds and their time, and that by shifting their understanding of who they are (not just someone trapped in the rat race, but someone who can partake in divine healing in many ways), using their imagination intentionally, and by bearing the responsibility for much that happens in their lives, that their hearts' desires are much more likely to be realized in this life. Further, they are more likely to be a blessing to those around them.

I liked this book, but with reservations
I am a long time fan of Dr. Dyer. He has inspired me in so many ways. I find him to be a kind, compassionate person. He came up the "ladder of success" with great effort. He's highly educated in the world of psychology and philosophy. I enjoy his "Wisdom of the Ages," and his respect for Emerson and Thoreau and other great men. They are intelligent, rational people. I have trusted Dr Dyer to be an honest, rational voice. I found much wisdom in this book. The basic premise is built around the words "I Am," as a formula for manifesting your desires. "I Am" are the words which God spoke to Moses. He quotes quite a bit from the "I Am" Discourses by St. Germain. There were some things in the book which troubled me. I was a bit skeptical about his past lives experience. I'm also sure what to think about the "John of God" experience described in the book. I know that one of his premises is to be open to everything, I think it's important to be open-minded, but one also needs a spirit of discernment because there are frauds and charlatans in the world. I think Dr. Dyer may have become so open-minded that he can't see falseness. Although this isn't in this book, I'm also very put off by his association with Esther Hicks and the Abraham movement. He's been doing interviews with Esther Hicks sponsored by Hay House (it's available on YouTube). I'm very suspect of people who say they are "channeling" from spirits on the other side, especially those who are making millions of dollars doing it. I'm surprised that Dr. Dyer would endorse them. I want to learn from great teachers. I had trusted Dr. Dyer, but now I'm not sure about him. I know that he has taught a lot of truth in the past. I guess I should learn from the truths he has taught and discard the rest. I would really like to hear the opinions of others on this. Am I the one who's not open minded?

Journey into I Am
Wayne Dyer's really reminding me about the teachings of Abraham(/Esther Hicks--see Youtube), and The Secret, and related recent New Age /Higher Thought (thank God(dess)) media about taking your own life by its horns-- YOU create your own life! It's time to take responsibility for your thoughts...and actions ...to manifest your most loved Wishes Fulfilled. I love Wayne's gentle style, Zen attitude (I also own his Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life) & open-mindedness; he is not afraid to interject episodes/examples from his own private life into his works (+he's got a life full of interesting experiences & big challenges -- which lends respect). He is also likeable and easy to understand. p49(beginning of ch3) gets to the meat of it: "you are a God-realized being, you will welcome it as the central focus of your life... your HIGHEST SELF [concept] is truly omniscient, almighty, & capable of producing miracles. ..you will see a new reality -- a majestic idea of yourself..." & he quotes St Paul in Philippians(Phil 2:5-6) "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of god, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God" "You move from being a spark/fragment of God to being able to assert that I AM GOD and not feel as if you're committing blasphemy ... "the creative Source of all being, a God who is responsible for creating the miraculous movement from nonbeing to being...Who is formless--Who does nothing yet leaves nothing undone--a God Who is everywhere. This is a Divine invisible presence that's within you. this idea is at the basis of all great spiritual teaching throughout all time". Thus I can advocate this book (even) for Christians...I used to be one, and through it I discovered Agape, True Love ~~ and LOVE is exactly what we are! See how Wayne does it again(p50):"Perhaps it is a radical idea for you to declare, "I am God" and "God is love", or believe that "He who abides in love abides in God, and god in him"(I John 4:16) is who you are. When you are this God, this essence of pure love, ...Jesus: "With god all things are possible". Now,ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE leaves out nothing, including your ability to FULFILL ANY & ALL WISHES that are aligned with God." (p77) "your great gift of I AM THAT I AM,...is your Divine inheritance from your creator." Our imagination is our sacred tool ... Wayne wants us to develop it, let it run free, and put no limits on it, as it is where/how we create our worlds. (p77) "reprogram your imagination to take you where you intend to be...Creation originates in the world of Spirit-- or, to say it differently, your imagination is the Source of all that has yet to manifest for you. By staying only with what your sense tell you is your reality, you place a barrier to letting your imagination create all that you wish,, all that you desire. Your imagination is unlimited...REPROGRAM your imagination to take you everywhere--EVERYWHERE that you are brave enough to envision for yourself". This is good stuff, in keeping with positive, expansive New Age thought, and quite congruent with other contemporary authors/teachers -- Wayne often quotes historical great minds~ Thoreau, Neville Goddard(Feeling Is The Secret), Uell Stanley Andersen, + the Tao, + even John Lennon & famous physicists (Planck/Einstein) ! These often make the lessons tangible, & of course Wayne's own life interjections bring his messages down-to-earth & touch the heart.

Gotta Love Wayne
We've made him a gazillionaire, but he is our modern day guru. He cites things that I find myself thinking "this feels right" and so, for me, when he writes (in spite of repeating himself, really there are only so many ways you can perceive this way of life/thinking) he is "all in" so to speak. I can see that he lives this way himself and has raised his family to understand these values. Living a spiritual life is not an easy thing in our modern world. With so many negative issues pulling for our attention, I find that popping in a Wayne CD while driving keeps me focused, centered and balanced - which is why I need his voice in my head as often as possible. He reminds me how to stay on the path, which is really important to me. I find him humorous, self deprecating with a healthy dose of ego usually inadvertently thrown in (I mean, come on - he IS Wayne Dyer after all) and he interprets all kinds of spiritual readings the way I would interpret them or the way that feel most "right" to me. Which is the bottom line. When your gut says "this is right", then that is all there is. He may not be everyone's 'cup of tea' - but for me, Wayne is a life force to be respected, listened to and digested daily, or as often as is humanly possible. He is my sanity, peace and grounding point. I've read hundreds of books - many of them authors he quotes or re-addresses in his books and virtually always find that his interpretation is nearly identical to mine; making me a fan for life. These are simple rules he preaches . But so few really understand them, it's staggering. I KNOW he has legions of fans (his gazillions testifies to that!) - but where ARE they? Flip on the TV, news, reality shows, network shows, movies...they are filled with the garbage that has come to define our society (sadly). I recently watched a show with Anne Heche which I doubt will make it, because it's about a woman who has an epiphany and now speaks to God, but it's funny, filled with comedy and love. It's masterful, clever and well written - with a bottom line of "we all need to grow closer to God and hear what He has to say, whoever your version of God may be"....and for that reason alone, I fear it will soon go off the air. Where are your followers Wayne? Why can't we get MORE programming like this - more music like this - more media like this? THAT is how this world will turn around, when people STOP populating the horror of humanity and start celebrating the beauty of humanity....it's out there, and right now Wayne (since Oprah has gone underground) is our primary prophet.... What's up next? I don't know, but whatever it is, I will be on-board - even if its a rehash of what has gone before, because there can never be enough of the kind, loving, peaceful sanity that Wayne doles out....never.

Uplifting, honest life-changing truth
I've read this book twice now, feeling energized both times. I'm about to read it a third time because it's that good - the messages are powerful and resonate as truth within me. There are some elements of the book that may seem a bit hokey to some people, one of which is Dr. Dyer's talk of "orbs", balls of light that are invisible to the human eye but appear in photos around him (and others). That is a weak point in an otherwise very powerful book and message of love, however that is just my opinion. I understand orbs to be an optical illusion caused by light light bouncing back into a camera lens off of dust particles or droplets, generally during photos taken with a flash. Perhaps used as a focus of positive energy, orbs or any other unknown phenomenon (to the person who is focusing upon them) may provide a useful platform with which to increase one's vibrational frequencies. Of the whole, this book is an excellent read. For those of you who can remain open-minded just long enough to take in Dr. Dyer's powerful message of love and truth, I believe you will find that you have the ability to do just as this book suggests: manifest beautiful things in your life. If you start to read this book and find yourself in a skeptical, non-believing, negative zone, then put it down and wait a few months and come back and try again. Just a handful of years ago, I was no ready to understand such things and would have thought of reading this book as a waste of time. Today, I am in a very different place in my life, and open to many things we are not taught in school growing up. Beautiful things have indeed been taking place in my life as of late, in part because of reading and practicing what is written about in this book. And as I finish up this review, I am about to start my third read through the book while exercising on my Airdyne. Somehow exercising while reading this book really supercharges me, allowing the words to be received more clearly and my whole Being to resonate with increased energy, in body and spirit (as a spiritual being having a human experience). I hope you'll find this book as uplifting, inspirational and life changing as I have.

It's not a book. It's a blessing.
Wayne Dyer is more than an author to me, he is an example of life. His teachings are blessings that have helped me to grow and change when I needed the most. This one book isn't an exception. It was like I was blocked on a edge of my evolutionary journey and here I have found not the teachings that I needed, but the words that I had the need to ear for taking in place my own knowledge.

... the beginning of this year and I am very glad I did
Wayne Dyer has only been someone I have started reading since the beginning of this year and I am very glad I did. His knowledge gathered from walking a path through life that deals with who we are, what we can do and how to generate good feelings in order to manifest what we want in life - is spot on, easy to follow and loaded with rich life experiences from himself and other people. If people are ready to change how they view themselves and life and allow their souls to guide them, this DVD is perfect in helping to bring your dreams into reality. The words 'Faith', Intention, Patience and Determination are mandatory in this mix but if you find it difficult to have these things, this DVD shows you ways to achieve them. An excellent tool for anyone willing to make a shift in their lives through their own powers of creation.

Good but not brilliant
I did enjoy reading this book and have re-flicked through it a few times since. The ideas are interesting but I did find it contained a lot of quotes from other people and maybe not so much direct inspiration from Dyer himself. I also found his way of saying he 'studied' things a bit ego-heavy. I really enjoy listening to Dyer talk and like his ideas though, so do not regret having this book on my shelf, so to speak.
