Put I little wd-40 in the crack where it separates let it soak in for a few minutes then take a hair dryer and heat up where the metal piece and separation crack are while rotating the flute until it's hot to touch. I used my hair dryer on high. Then wiggle or pull it loose it should separate easily without any damage. I contacted the seller who suggested the hair dryer and if there were any damages from trying to get it unstuck they would replace it no problem. I've never had such a great experience dealing with a seller or customer service ever. So helpful and polite.
