Tenn Well 5mm Jute Twine, 100 Feet Braided Natural Rope, Thick Twine for Crafts, Gift Wrapping, Gardening, Cat Tower Repair, Macrame Jute Cord

You can make about 100 FEET of wick for the fire starters that sell for that price EACH on most web sites. (This ball of twine + a box of Gulf Wax around 14 dollars where I live.) It has been a few years since I pointed out making fire wicks and using "snuffer" tubes to some manufacturers of "Bushcraft" supplies and I cannot believe how many people still pay for their more expensive products that can be easily made at home. It's simple people, Melt the wax, Cut the twine to the length you want, Dip the twine in the wax so that it soaks thru and hang it up to dry. Thread it thru a small (1/4" diameter x 3" long) piece of metal tubing and there you go, Fire Wick. This twine is a braded twine that fits thru a 1/4" piece of copper tubing just right to make the wick. This twine takes wax easily and burns slow when properly soaked with the wax. I do not know who strong the twine is as I do not use it for that purpose. I do know that after you have made a fire-starting wick with it, that if you "fluff" the end up a little it will take a spark from a ferro rod or a spark wheel easily. That is pretty much all I have to say other than I have found this is a good twine to make fire wicks with and I use quite a bit of it.

All I could find any more at the local stores is some thin green twine that cut into soft canes and branches. This was thicker and offered more support during out frequent windstorms. I always tie with a bow tie, so that I can easily undo it and reuse the twine on later projects. Worth the money.

I bought this for one of my Macrame projects and it is just perfect! Although, I would highly recommend wearing gloves while handling this cord. Beware, it is not 100 feet in length as advertised, all of my spools are just about 98 feet. I will just have to buy some more, LOL! Good value for money, beautiful cord, really quick delivery!

I made a rope plate (you can find how to make one on U tube) it came out real nice. However, I'm planning on making another one with thicker jute to make it look more nautical, this size jute gives the plate a more oriental look which I really like. As for strength it's not being used for any heavy duty work but just by feel and look I'd say it's strong. If you do decide to try to put your hand to making a rope plate this one ball was enough to cover the whole plate. I added handles but I had to braid the handles to give it enough stiffness,otherwise, the handles will be too doopey.

Was just what I needed strong.

I've used this twine for all kinds of projects, whether it's tying back shrubs along a fenceline, tying/staking a newly planted tree, or tying up all those flattened Amazon cardboard boxes for recycling, etc. Unlike the previous twine I used that broke easily, this stuff is tough.

Replaced the cat scratcher. Good strong, and was enough. do recommend
