Easy to Use, Makes GREAT Yogurt
This makes making great yogurt really, really easy. Came with seven little glass jars, with plastic lids. One lid is cracked, but still can still be used. The main cover is plastic, so I'm hoping that lasts a while. The inside is one level surface -- no grid or anything for the jars, so if you wanted to make a large batch of "yo" in a bowl instead, you could do it, but we use the jars. Super easy -- just the milk of your choice, heated to boiling while the maker is heating up and your starter is coming to room temp (we use a plain greek yogurt we get at the healthfood store), whisk in powdered milk if you want it really thick, whisk in the starter, ladle into the jars, put 'em in the machine, cover, set the timer for how ever many hours -- 8 works just fine... and then be patient. In 8 hours, put it in the refrigerator and... be patient again. In the morning after the "yo" has cooled, mix it with whatever you like (a little cinnamon, pumpkin puree, chopped dates, and raw sugar, anyone?) Or just some fruit, wheatberries, and a little blackberry honey? SOOOOOO much better than what's in the stores. Great on baked potatoes (sweet or otherwise) in place of sour cream. Also great on tacos.... And with it this easy, what's not to love? It has two buttons (basically up/down and hour selection) and a little window that counts down. A little common sense and a quick read of the manual, and you are totally good to go. And yes, made from goats milk -- heavenly. Haven't tried soy yet, 'cuz we're too busy eating the other...

Awesome Yogurt Maker!
This is just a fantastic product! I have been using it regularly and it works very well. It makes great yogurt! I recommend the Dash yogurt maker to any person who loves yogurt! It has glass jars too! I really like the fact I can make my own homemade yogurt with no sugar and no preservatives! I just add fresh fruit and granola and its so tasty and good for me!I was tired of the cost for store bought yogurt. This price is very reasonable for I am getting great returns on my purchase!!!!

cheap don't waist your money
Cheaply made for the. Price in my book. It never got warm enough to make my yogurt. I ended up going back to the oven to make it.

I like this yogurt maker
I like this yogurt maker, but after a few uses was a little disappointed that I'd bought one with so many little jars. I like to strain the yogurt through a cheese cloth so that its thicker, and then end up putting it into one larger jar anyways. However, it works great. The timer is sweet! I can start it in the evening and it cooks while I'm sleeping and shuts itself off. Its also easy to clean.

Poor manufacturing quality control
The unit only worked three times before the heating element stopped working. On first use, the unit worked correctly and produced yogurt with a consistency as described in the accompanying manual. On the second and third uses, the heating element operated overheated, reducing incubation time from 10 to about 7 1/2 hours. Since it was on the 10-hour timer setting recommended by the manual for low-fat 2% milk, the yogurt over-incubated (making it excessively sour). On the third try, I reduced the incubation time to 8 hours, and the yogurt turned out acceptably. However, after this third use, the base unit no longer produced heat -- although the fancy blue led-lit digital timer worked just fine! The product failure occurred a few days after Amazon's 30-day return window, so I had to contact Dash to get service/replacement.Having owned, since 1988, a Salton 6-jar yogurt maker, which worked for 27 years before even one jar receptacle's heating element failed, I was disappointed in Dash's manufacturing quality control. I figured that in 2017, it was second nature for a small kitchen appliance manufacturers to make a durable heating element and support thermostats for such a product as this.Furthermore, one of the base heating unit's feet came off several times (but it was easily reattached).Dash customer service, all in all, were very pleasant, although the company that fielded my warranty request was completely separate from the product's actual manufacturer. Therefore, there was no direct feedback to their product manufacturing and engineering regarding the heating element (or thermostat) defect; only the ability to describe the defect to the customer service representative. The rep politely sent a return shipping label to me. As warranty customer, I was required to box the unit and drop it off at a UPS outlet, and once I notified Dash of the UPS tracking number, they expedited the replacement shipment (before they actually received my defective unit).Since only the heating unit was defective, I did not return the included glass jars, lids, and heating base cover. However, at the time of supplying the UPS tracking number to the Dash rep, she advised me Dash wouldn't be able to ship back a replacement heating base by itself, only a completely new unit with all the accessories. So I received a new heating base unit along with 7 duplicate glass jars and lids, plus a duplicate plastic heating base cover.I'm bothered by this sort of waste; I really don't know how they can afford to do that, and as a consumer, I would rather have Dash ship only what the warranty customer needs, passing the savings along in their product pricing.I received the replacement unit, which as of this writing (and one use) is working properly. If it breaks, I'll update this review.

works great. outstanding!
wow! so easy, and the results are fantastic. seriously, just mix milk, powdered milk and a half cup of yogurt (store bought or from the last batch) pour into jars and set the timer and press start. by adding a little more or less time you can change how strong (tart/tangy) you want it. it can be super mellow almost like sour cream or tart to mix sweet fruit/jam into. outstanding value you can make 21 jars of yogurt for a gallon of milk and the taste and texture is way better.

Overheated and Burst
Ihave had this yogurt maker for one month. Each consecutive use the temperature got hotter and hotter. The last time I used it the glass jars were hot to touch. The next day as I was eating the yogurt I got glass in my mouth and noticeda large hole in the bottom of the jar. It must have burst from the hot temperature. Glad I did not swallow any glass!
