Imperial Phal Monterey Orchid Mix is made with: AAA New Zealand Sphagnum Moss, Medium Monterey Bark, Hydro LECA, Large Sponge Rock, and Medium Cork Nuggets. rePotme Phalaenopsis AAA Gold Imperial Orchid Mix is hand made with extraordinary ingredients. It is an excellent choice for Phalaenopsis, Doritaenopsis, Doritis, Neofinetia, and Sederia. Our Imperial orchid mixes are probably the finest plush mixes available anywhere and are perfect for the orchids in your collection. Don't be fooled by lesser grades of sphagnum moss, insist on top quality long fiber sphagnum. Note: In general, one quart of potting mix fills a six inch wide pot, two four inch pots, or half of an eight inch pot with no plant in it. The number of plants that can be repotted depends on the size of the roots and how tightly the mix is packed into the pot. Review: A quality orchid mix - My phalenopsis orchid came in a mix with long fibered sphagnum moss and I'm an underwaterer so it was important to me to get a mix including that. I'd estimate this is about half long fiber sphagnum. The rest is bark, charcole, the biggest chunks of perlite I ever saw (but not so large as to be akward) and brown round things I think are like the balls used in hydroponics. The mix fluffed up beautifully when I took it out of the bag and moistened it, there was enough to fill two 6" pots. It drains beautifuly and retains moisture well. I haven't bought orchid media in a long time so I had a bit of sticker shock when I ordered it but I got my money's worth. This will keep my orchid stable, well drained, and properly watered and I don't expect it to break down any time soon! Review: Functional & Aesthetic - Purchased both the Phalaenopsis AAA Gold Imperial Orchid Mix (MINI Bag) & Phalaenopsis Monterey Dark Imperial Orchid Potting Mix - (MINI Bag) by rePotme to upgrade my orchid to a larger pot with additional/ new potting materials but wasn't sure which would be best. The Dark Imperial had very little moss while the Gold Imperial was 65% moss. The pictures show the amount of potting materials I had left in each MINI Bag after repotting my orchid. You definitely get a lot of potting material per bag as I have enough left over for at least another orchid in a similar pot size or more. After watering my orchid with the new potting materials, I was able to confirm that the mixed material naturally created a lot of air/ space which ensures a functional mix of water retention within the moss and other material while allowing for quick and thorough drainage. Functional, aesthetic, and overall great product.

Excellent product
I had an aging orchid and a brand new orchid. Both had been over watered and neither were healthy. After watching a video on orchid care on line I bought this product and replanted both of my orchids. Wow! What a difference. Both plants are healing and the new plant is flowering again. I recommend this product to all my friends and family.

Great potting mix!!
This is the most perfect potting mix. I tried two others and there is NO comparison to the AAA Gold Imperial mix.

Good ingredients, but too complicated
I bought this mostly because a popular orchid YouTuber recommended the company’s products and it sounded like the gold standard. It’s not some generic mix from a big box store. The packaging and ingredient list are impressive. In practice though, it’s a bit much. The blend includes moss, bark, Hydroton, sponge rock, and cork chips, and there’s no easy way to get a balanced scoop without separating things by hand. Otherwise you end up with all moss or all bark in one go. I also found more fine debris in the bag than expected. It’s not a bad mix, just more complex than necessary for my needs. These days I’ve simplified things: good moss, good bark.

My favorite orchid medium
It's great medium for your orchids. It maintains its water retention nicely. It helps to grow a healthier roots and plant system overall. Easy to use. Lastly, it adds to the plant functionality.
