Yes, but it depends on how much liquid and how fast you try to clean up the spill.

We bought it for our sofa sleeper and guests have been happy with it.

Q: how big/high is topper?

I’d say between 3 and 4 inches. So far we are very pleased with it, our mattress feels more comfortable. The topper has not flattened out so far and the bottom fitted sheet keeps it in place well. The straps at the corners do not work on our mattress.
