The Parrot Tico Tango is greedy and needs to have every fruit that each of his friends have. He eventually has too many fruits and CRASH, the fruits going flying! His friends decide to have a fruit party with the fruits he stole from them. Tic Tango feels sad and left out! Fun for Children
The bright and vivid colors of Anne Witte’s children’s book The Parrot Tico Tango display perfectly the naughty antics of the macaw who goes about the jungle stealing food from the other animals. With rhymes to help children master new words, Witte offers exotic fruit and animal names with fun sounds and complex patterns. What’s even better is Tico Tango the naughty parrot teaches kids a good lesson about being greedy: You can lose everything if you steal from your jungle friends! In the end, Tico Tango’s friends exemplify a forgiving spirit, which leads to a celebration of healthy foods that all friends share when Tico Tango works for his supper. Witte has cleverly packed a number of good messages into this 24-page story of a naughty parrot who has good taste. Not only did I enjoy the book from a parrot owner’s point of view, my 6-year-old niece loved the book. She called from Grandma’s house to tell me so with the CD playing in the background.

Great for elementary school teachers.
I am an elementary school music teacher. The students love this brand of books with song. I have the students do actions and sing along in certain parts. Best for ages 7 to 3.

Someone should write a song
Our three-year old loves this book and so do we. The text is engaging and the beautiful illustrations compliment it perfectly. We love the end, which leaves children with a good message and motivates for further activity afterward (dancing). Someone should write a song to follow the story. And yes, The Parrot Tico Tango is a proof that the best books don't have to be the most expensive ones.

Must have
I'm originally from Costa Rica and long ago was looking for a good book for my daughter that will have some of the Costa Rican flavor. Well, we found a fun story that rimes and is fun for her to read and dance at the end. Love it and definetely must have. We now give it at every birthday party. It has become our little Costa Rican treasure.

Awesome
My kids love the pictures, the story and, most of all, the song. They take some maracas and dance to the music. The rhymes are great and so easy to remember the song. I offered a copy to my nephew and he wants to listen to the CD every time he gets in the car.
