This seat is super sturdy and truly soft closing. Almost too soft. If you wait for the seat to go down on its own and you have to go number #2 real bad your best off helping it down. The other weird thing are the little plastic screws are designed to break off on purpose, I guess to make sure you don’t over tighten them. I really didn’t see a reason for that design. I was confused at first because they seemed to stick out too far. But the cryptic illustration made me believe that I wanted to break them, which I did so I guess it wasn’t as cryptic as I was thinking.

Love this toilet seat and the solid quality it is. It came quick and assembly was very easy. It fits perfect and its comfortable. It has guards so when putying the seat, it doesn’t slam down, it’s quiet.. Good value for the money.

Fairly well made, easy to install. The only issue I can foresee being an issue is the "hardware." The screws appear to be nylon. While the seat and lid are good quality, I'm concerned with the potential failure later down the line. Overall, the price is good for what you're getting. We'll see how things go.

Fit our round toilet perfectly. Nice heavy duty thick toilet seat. Lid closes gently. The previous dropped hard like a rock. Definitely great value to have a heavy duty toilet seat and cover doesn’t drop in our rental. Mounting was simple enough. Cleaning is a breeze.

I bought two of these for each bathroom, and they’ve been a great upgrade. The slow-close feature works flawlessly—no more slamming, which is a must with kids. This is very solid, and the slow closure mechanism works good,, but maybe a little too good. I would rather have a slow closing toilet seat, as opposed to one that slams closed, with a loud bang. This might even be adjustable, but it closes so slow, you might need to give it a little nudge, but still better than the alternative. I have not had any problems with the finish coming off, but I owe that to the other reviewers, that mentioned that issue. I use a very gentle soapy water, to clean it, with a germicidal soap, and it still looks brand new. I could see how using a very strong cleaning product could be too harsh, but I think I will try one of the citrus based products, just to see what happens. It does look good, not that a toilet seat needs to look good, but it certainly doesn’t look bad. It is a stark color, which is totally appropriate. My tiny issue, which is an acceptable trade off, but might not be for everyone, is as follows. There are toilet seats that are installed from just the top of the toilet, which is what I thought this was. This is the type that you can tighten from the top, but you do need to place the bottom fasteners, from the bottom. I was replacing one that you could completely installed from the top, and then you could tighten it from just the top, but that created the situation where you had to tighten it, way too frequently. Everything is relative, and the old one required tightening from the top, which took all of about a minute, but perhaps every few months. It was quick and easy, but became annoying. This promises to stay tight, and I actually waited to see for myself, and it hasn’t loosened at all, and is exactly as tightly installed as the day I installed it. I ordered it, and took everything out of the box, including the hardware, and I was replacing the older one, that was broken. I am sure I could have returned it, but I figured I would just install it, even though you do need to get to the bottom, for a few moments. The only reason this even mattered was there is very little room between the wall, on one side, and the vanity, on the other side, in my guest bathroom, so it is a little tight to get underneath. With that said, I would do it again, in a second, because the full top only installation type does loosen. The 5 minutes of getting under it was well worth it, to install it, and forget it. No more retightening necessary. I agree with the other reviewers that mentioned it is not perfect for comfort, but no more, or less than any other solid hardwood seat. I gave up on the cushioned ones, along time ago, because they are usually somewhat flimsy, and harder to keep perfectly clean. Maybe there are better cushioned ones available now, but this was perfect for my needs. As long as you have room to get the bottom fasteners on, from the bottom, this was a great choice.

So it's a tough review, on one hand the toilet seat is comfy, looks good, isn't too difficult to install, the slow close action works well, it fits with our bidet attachment and most importantly fits our toilet from 1974 very well. However, the plastic pieces where the seat attaches to the toilet vary a lot in how long they last, we just ordered our THIRD one of these. The first one lasted a year, the second lasted 4 years, so fingers crossed this next one lasts longer. We are a household of just 2 people and neither of us weighs more than 155lbs and we're not sliding in fast and oddly onto the toilet seat to cause extra odd wear and tear! :P So if you don't mind replacing a toilet seat every 1-4 years it's good. I don't like doing this but sadly it's hard to find toilet seats that fit our toilet and are actually comfortable, so yeah, I'll keep having to shell out the money.

Good overall quality at the the ~70 dollar price point. Both lids closely separately to each other and at a slow pace (~20 seconds) I expect thus to speed up as time goes on though so best it closes slowly at the start. Very easy to install but will need a 1/2" so ket/wrech/Crescent as the plastic bolt head will sheer completely off when installing per instruction and use and will not install properly without sherring off. There is still a Philips slot for removal in future though. Comfortable and solid feeling and does not so far wriggle in place as a plastic one would tend to do.

High quality product, however did not fit my toilet, the spacing on the holes were different and the hinges were twisting. Make sure you measure the distance between the holes on your toilet before ordering

I got this seat first for one bathroom to try it out. Fairly easy to install, but tool is needed (instructions provided). Once installed, it's great. Very sturdy, thick, and strong. I can easily stand on it and it does not bend nor move at all. Makes it easy now to clean the vent in the ceiling. Item is super easy to clean. But the best part is how both the seat and lid close slowly and super quietly on their own. No more noise from shutting down the toilet seat. I loved it so much, the next week i ordered 2nd one for my other bathroom. Highly recommend. Quality workmanship.
