Not effective as a shoe dryer
I bought these to dry out my son’s football boots after training. The boots normally dry by the next day if they are left upside down on a radiator. However, these were unable to dry the boots at all.

Useful, and easy to use.
These are really simple and easy to use, being two separate units powered by USB that you insert into the shoes or boots and then a gentle heat slowly dries them out. It even has a timer function so you can set them up and just leave them and get in with the rest of the day. As a bonus, they can be used simply to warm your shoes before wearing on a really cold morning and they also have a UV light feature that kills bacteria. I’m not sure how effective this actually is, as there’s no way without a laboratory to test it out and bacteria in my shoes isn’t something I’ve ever really lost sleep about and don’t want to start..... but I guess if you’re someone who suffers a lot with athletes foot or fungal nail infections it might be worth trying these out in case they actually do help kill the fungal spores responsible ?

Sidas Shoes Dryer
To be honest, I have really knew that these devices existed. Two inserts, which slip inside shoes, to warm them up, dry them out and sanitise them. These come as a pair, so there is one cable – easily plugged into my PC and slipped into wet shoes. At the moment, at the end of summer, these probably won’t be necessary, but with the school term starting tomorrow, they will soon come into their own. Great for wet school shoes, wet trainers and, especially useful for boots, which don’t try easily on a radiator. These don’t necessarily dry very quickly. As such, if you want to dry off several pairs of shoes, they might not be too useful. However, these are definitely useful and I will certainly be slipping these inside my favourite boots on wet and cold evenings, so they are toasty and dry by the morning.

A novelty gift that will be useful for some
These shoe dryers are a bit of a mixed bag; they might make a good, if expensive, novelty gift for the person who has everything or for an elderly person who likes to warm their slippers in the evening but I wouldn't rate them as a must have item.So do they work? Yes, if you choose the option of a 4 hour timer on these, they do a good job of drying out a pair of moderately wet shoes. My husband cycles to work every day and has been using them when his shoes get wet. He finds they're best used in the office where he doesn't have access to other ways of drying his shoes, you cant exactly put your shoes on a radiator in work! But if at home its just as handy to pop them in the hot press, by the fire, under the radiator, as that tends to do a better job. These gradually warm shoes up at a very moderate to low level of heat, they're lightweight and fit quite well into the shoe but they don't reach the length of the shoe right to the toe.One of the biggest drawbacks is they don't come with their own plug, just a cable with USB so you will need a compatible plug to power them. The cable is also really short so you'll need room at your plug socket to place them right beside.Overall these do a fine job of drying out shoes, but there are a lot of simpler, less expensive methods that would do a better job.

Not a useless gadget, they do work.
No assembly needed and simple instructions and even simpler controls. So far I have found the 4 hour time to be sufficient to dry out wet golf shoes which would normally take at least overnight stuffed with paper in a warm room. So as far as I'm concerned as shoe driers, they work.I'm now thinking of attaching them to an external timer so the 4 hour timer kicks in on icy mornings to heat my shoes/boots before setting out into the frozen, Scottish tundra.
