Best torch I have found.
So I have used these torches for years and I lose one or damage one every 2-3 years. This one is the cheapest one I have ever found. Most other manufacturers use more brass and aluminum which should be better for corrosion when they get left out in the rain and mean better life....But this is actually better yes you will see rust spots in a coupe of years, yes the sparker will stop working in less than1 year. They all do. The ones with huge brass fittings and an aluminum tube are lighter but the LP tank weighs more than the rest and this one balances better. The aluminum tube ones use lots of brass to strengthen them and prevent melting the tube but the heat makes the aluminum brittle and they break easy. They use foam on the handle which degrades in weather and slides out of position this one is rubber and feels better in your hand and lasts longer. This one lasts longer is more durable and works better. I melted my last aluminum one so now I only have these (3) and the oldest one is about 6 years which is the first one I reluctantly bought. I would pay more for this over the big brand one but it is 1/3 the price for that one at fleet farm and Jas lasted 3 times as long and still going.

Great for burning weeds in paver driveways and patios!
Use this for burning weeds in my paver driveway and patio. Works quite well. 1 pound gas canister lasts about 4 months. Built-in lighter. Comfortable to hold. Adjustable flame. Fun to use. Good quality tool. Gets the job done fast. Decent price with great delivery.

Burning weeds is satisfying
I've owned this for a few months now. A small tank of propane lasts about 5 burns for me--that's about 90 minutes of constant use per burn. I'm pleased with that. I used to spray weeds with weed killer. Aside from the dangers of toxicity, overspray, etc, I then had to wait until the weeds died before I could clean my walk, and by then new weeds were emerging. I need to burn my walks about once every 4 weeks. I find that each time I am finding fewer weeds. Yes, you can just blanch the weed and it'll die (the leaves turn bright green), but I've found that if you take the time and burn them to oblivion, the results are much more attractive. The walk is clean. Challenges are near plastic edgings and grass/mulch. For over mulch, I'll blanch the leaves and the weeds die in a day or two, but you must be careful because wood-chip mulch will smoke and no one wants a fire. The other day, I took this out to use it and it wasn't working. The igniter wasn't doing anything and when I used a lighter, the flame that came out was large and came out of everywhere. I'm a former firefighter, so I'm used to dealing with fire. This made me uncomfortable. I've read of similar experiences in other reviews. I let it cool down. When I looked at it, I found a small spiders' nest in the tip. I've read that spiders like gas, so it didn't surprise me. I used a toothpick to fish it out. When I hooked up the bottle again, it worked perfectly. The ignitor light the flame which shot like a small blowtorch. Now I check the tip before each use.

Broken Out of the Box of Course
As expected of most things sold on Amazon, the Piezo igniter failed and is broken out of the box. Have to use matches or a cigarette lighter. Edit: the spark lighter actually does work when the propane glow is minimal and not turned up high. The torch wand is nice. Lightweight, has a nice, smooth flame output.

I am 6 ft tall (1.83m) and with the tip down next to my foot I still keep my elbow a bit bent, which means NO LEANING FORWARD! I can stand straight when burning the weeds. Burning is awesome, strong even to medium or small setting, was worried it would shut off due to wind (Canada, eh :-) but no worries about that. You can use it even in a storm on the higher setting (never tried, but if feels like it). Product feels of good quality, looks like stainless steel, which is very expensive if it is so. Did not do the magnet test though to verify. The handle has the plastic ridges which give more control. A great yet useful toy! Go burn all weeds! Important: you can not only burn on patios, but also burn the seeds of dandelions, when they turn white and are ready to fly in the wind. One 5 mins walk and you killed all the seedlings without damaging the grass, just the white fluffy tips.

Read the instructions for lighting and it lights easily. Previous comments indicated problems, but if you just have the valve in the right position it should be no problem. If the valve is opened up to high flow, it has a hard time igniting. After ignition it works well. Great for weed coming through the pavement or interlocking brick.

Great for our house block. Uses disposable gas cans. If you have a larger area then not really economical. We have 2 dogs so I won't use herbicides. With a very dry winter we have a lot of weeds and this item is doing a good job of getting rid of them. 500g gas can does the yard, front and back 3 or 4 times depending on the amount of weeds and frequency of use. I'm tall so a bit more length would have been nice. I recommend this item for a house block.

It's ok, but the auto ignition doesn't work. So factor in the cost of a flint striker if you buy it.
