Great for Gaming
Setup was very easy, two screws go into the back of the monitor, two more into the base. A Phillips screwdriver is included. There is an HDMI 1.4 port that will do 1080 at 120hz, an HDMI 2.0 port that will do 1080 at 144hz, and a Display Port that will do 1080 144hz. The monitor comes with a Display Port cable. Upon powering the monitor on, it will be in 60hz. This needs to be changed in the Windows 10 settings. Under the resolution settings are Advance Display Adapter settings, that's where you change it to 144hz. If you attempt to change it elsewhere, it likely won't take. If your on screen text is even a bit fuzzy, you probably are still in 60hz mode and don't realize it. I changed mine in the AMD control panel, but it didn't actually change until I went into the Windows settings and changed it to 144hz there. FreeSync works very well. I believe the range is 49hz to 144hz. I use AMD Chill to keep my range between 70 and 144. All VSync is turned off so that FreeSync can operate unimpeded. If you're contantly above 144, which is unlikely on AMD hardware, then you may want to try Adaptive VSync. FreeSync also needs to be enabled in the monitor menu. OverDrive is supposed to give you better pixel response. I did not find this worth it, the small loss in color depth wasn't worth the slightly faster response time. The monitor also has advance calibration settings, gamma, red, blue, green, yellow, cyan, and magenta. I found the default to be slightly greenish blue, I lowered each of those a couple of ticks. I also lowered gamma from 2.2 to 2.4 just to get a little more depth on the black levels. Just to note, 2.2 was spot on in my testing, I just prefer the slightly darker shade of black. There is a movie mode that has deep blacks and super saturated, while it looks good, the shadows are crushed in games making it difficult to spot enemies. I found the FPS pre-set to be pretty good. The speakers are awful, not even worth mentioning. I also enjoy the curve monitor. My previous is a 27 inch flat and I always felt like I was sitting too close for the size. 24 inch on a desk is much more comfortable. Very good monitor for the price, 144hz is immediately noticeable, I cannot believe I went this long without it. I would recommend this monitor. My hardware is a Ryzen CPU with an AMD rx 580.

If you're just a gamer this is a good option
First off, I'm not a monitor enthusiast. I'm just a gamer that was looking to get a high refresh, adaptive sync monitor for 1080p gaming because I play mostly shooter e-sports games (Overwatch, Apex Legends, CS:GO etc). Additionally I got this monitor for $120 on a Prime day sale so that makes the value proposition a little better in my case but even at $150 - $160, this monitor is still a good value at this spec range. Gaming The gaming performance is what's most important to me and I'm assuming is what's going to be most important for you as well if you're considering this monitor. In that aspect, it does what's advertised. You'll get 144Hz at 1080p through the display port connection (cable included). Windows will configure the monitor at 1080p 60Hz by default, change this in the settings under advanced display settings -> Display adapter properties -> List all modes. Also, freesync is disabled by default, but it's easy to turn that on as well in the monitor settings menu. I have an Nvidia GPU and G-Sync works no problem. Be sure to turn that on as well in your relevant display driver settings. Image Quality As I said, I'm not a monitor enthusiast, so for me this monitor looks fine but even my untrained eye can tell that the color reproduction is not the most accurate. Colors are quite saturated and whites look a bit on the yellow/red side. Whether or not that can be adjusted to be more accurate, I don't know nor do I really care that much because games look great to me and every thing else looks fine. I did however lower the brightness as well as the red and green to get whites looking a bit more natural. It's a VA panel so viewing angles and contrast are good. I've noticed very minor flickering in a few programs (mainly steam). I don't know what's causing it but it's not so bad that it's unusable and it does not occur often or long enough for me to care. Will update if that gets worse. Everything else -Using the manual, setup was quick and easy. They actually include a decent screw driver with a magnetic tip. That was a nice bonus. -The stand feels sturdy but it is cheap with no height adjustment or swivel. Not really an issue though because there are VESA 75mm mounts -The speakers suck just like every other monitor speaker. -I have a weird issue when I open Spotify for the first time after startup the monitor goes blank for a few seconds. It does not happen in any other program and it only happens once after startup. Weird, but not an issue. Overall I've been very happy with this purchase, and I will update if that changes. Update: Seems like a driver update solved the slight flickering and the issue with Spotify. So now I have no issues. Easy recommendation.

Good cheap gaming monitor
I've waited a while to review this as I wanted to make sure it would hold up. This was bought for our first gaming pc. Quite pleased with it. I don't have any comparison for more expensive 144hz monitors as this is my first, but it looks great and I feel it was decent enough for the price. The stand could be bigger or a better shape. It doesn't wobble, it feels sturdy, but I'm concerned about accidently knocking it over. It feels like it is a bit too top heavy for the design of the stand. I thought for sure we had broken the screen when first setting it up because it fell over face forward on the desk as we were putting it in place. Thankfully the screen was not damaged but it would be much safer with a better stand or wall mounted. Overall it has been great for both our pc and ps4. I like that we can use the monitor with the pc plugged into the Displayport and the ps4 plugged into the hdmi and just switch back and forth without needing to unplug anything. Just a tip if you want 144hz you do need to change it in the settings. On initial setup everything was defaulted to 60hz. It seems to be a common thing to miss from what I gathered on Google so just adding it here to help.

Great entry-level gaming monitor
Overall, I am impressed with this monitor. I have had Sceptre products in the past before and they are budget friendly and you get what you pay for. With that being said though you get the bang for your buck minus some compromises as with any purchase you make. ---Pros: Going from a 60hz to 144hz monitor is a night and day difference when playing games. AMD FreeSync works well. Colors can take some adjusting right out of the box, but in my opinion that is a compromise of what you pay for. Great options for inputs. You have a DisplayPort input in the back along with two HDMI ports. You can achieve 144mhz on HDMI, but you must have a later model HDMI cable and you have to plug it in the one labled 144mhz. Built-in speakers, but don't expect to get blown away with the sound. Not worth taking a star away because that is to be expected at the price point. ---Cons: Like another viewer has mentioned I did notice that the monitor may black out. I had two of these monitors and one of them would randomly black on and off and made me restart my system. However, after use I haven't seen the issue return. The other monitor never showed the symptoms so I guess it will be hit and miss. The monitor is not true edge to edge. I didn't notice it until a few days after use, but lose about a 1/4" between the image displayed and the plastic. If you are into your game you will not notice, but it is noticeable once you are aware of it. Personally, if you advertise "edge-less" truly make it that way. --Overall: I would definitely recommend this monitor. If you are just getting into gaming, or on a budget this is one to get so that you won't break the bank with your purchase. Also, from my experience Sceptre products are pretty good and will last as long as you take care of them. Don't hesitate on this one! Quick note to Amazon: Great customer service on resolving issues. The first monitor I received was left outside my door and was rained on. Moisture did get inside of the box, but the monitor worked. I wasn't comfortable with keeping it so I contacted Amazon and they worked with me in resolving the issue without any hassle. Kudos to Amazon customer service!

Best Budget monitor out there.
I got this monitor on June 8th , I ordered it international , i paid for fast shipping so it came in literally 3 days to where im at. I thought since people complained so much about it , i was going to receive it broken since i ordered it international , but I was wrong. I got it in perfect condition , I've been playing on it everyday ever since I got it. I love it so far. The only bad thing about it is the colors , so you have to play around with it ALOT to change it to how you like the colors , the other issue is the buttons on the back of the screen when you try changing the color settings for any settings the screen randomly turns off or the buttons stop working. I didn't find it as a big issue for me cause I knew It wouldn't be perfect , I honestly don't care about that , as long as there's no dead pixels and it works great for gaming. I would give this product 5 stars just cause of the fact that it's a really good monitor and really affordable. If you don't mind a couple struggles with the colors and buttons on the back of the screen turning off the screen when changing the settings then this will be perfect. I don' think this problem happens to everyone seems like each monitor has it's own problems. Which in the end isn't a big deal cause I still managed to get the right colors going for me. If you're still worried about this monitor I would just say go for it don't be scared. It's a really good monitor. I was searching for so long to find a good monitor and this is the one. Trust me this is the best you'll get for the price it's offering. Keep in mind that other monitors that are more expensive have issues too. No monitor is perfect each monitor has it's own problems so don't think buying a "name brand" monitor or an expensive one won't have issues. Trust me they all do just depends on what you care with and what you can't. This monitor has 0 issues when it comes to gaming and refresh rate. The smoothest monitor you can get if you ask me. It was honestly a life changing experience to go from 60hz laptop monitor to this monitor. My hp laptop monitor colors and picture is trash compared to this monitor.

5 years working perfectly
"I am writing this review approximately five years after purchasing this monitor, and it is still working as perfectly as the first day. I haven't encountered a single issue. The quality is excellent, the 144Hz refresh rate works great for gaming, and I absolutely love it. Even after four and a half or five years, it still powers on perfectly with no dead pixels or any other imperfections

Easy to set up for 144hz
I bought this for a new PC I was building. I was worried with some of the reviews I had read, but was very pleasantly surprised. Those who say this display is only 60hz simply don't know what they are talking about. It comes set to 60hz, but in windows display setting this can be quickly switched to 144 hz. It's easy, and the difference is very noticeable. This desplay DOES come with a display port that works (I believe using HDMI will only get you 120 hz, so if a review says that, then they likely are using HDMI) The freesync tech works amazing, and I easily set all my games to max out at 144 hz. My GPU will only output this high, and no tearing occurs. It looks amazing. The curve is more subtle than I expected, and it actually works really well for a 24" monitor. To all those who say their device comes with broken pixels or maybe a line down the middle, I did not experience this. However, if you are careful with the monitor when mounting it (skrewing in base), I honestly believe this would rarely happen. Don't push down on the screen when it is on its face. The curve would cause stress on the screen. All in all this is a cheaper 144 hz monitor, and I believe you get a little more than you pay for.

Perfect right out of the box
I bought 2 of these and I was really worried after reading some of the reviews. I watched tons and tons of videos on Youtube and read lots of stuff prior to buying (Like I always do). I had actually responded to a review on this monitor where someone mentioned the dead pixel policy Spectre has. After reading that review I basically closed this page and looked elsewhere. The thing I found out is almost every single monitor company out there has the same exact dead pixel policy (Which in my opinion is complete trash). I own 3 other Spectre monitors. A 19" I bought years and years ago which is still working fine and 2x24" GTG monitors which 1 of them had 3 dead pixels and both have died after a few years of use. So I kinda had expectations that my chances were pretty high at least one of the 2 was going to have at least one dead pixel. Nope, neither of them have dead pixels. The colors and everything were great straight out of the box. I am very happy with them thus far. Lets just hope they last a long time unlike the other 2 24" I got from Sceptre years ago. Update: 1 of the 2 monitors occasionally has an issue where a streak of color will go across it and completely freeze up. Fixable by unplugging the monitor and plugging it back in. Its happened a total of 4 times since I purchased on. Jan 24, 2020 and today is April 3, 2020. The other monitor has not has any issues. Update: Dec 17 2024. The streaks of color got so bad and wouldn't show display at all anymore. Turns out the port on the graphics card was slowly going out. Swapped to the 3rd display port on video card and the monitors haven't done it since. (Tried replacing the display port cords first). Not that this update is worth anything as I dont think these are sold anymore but... maybe it will help someone in some way.

Impresionante

Great specs, lives up to them!
I bought this monitor based on the many value-oriented 144hz monitor reviews out there. It definitely lives up to the expectations. Yes is it a tad dim, for sure but I didn't put it in a room it needs to compete with much daylight so that's totally fine for my application. Handles motion and the rest like a champ as expected, zero dead pixels upon arrival too. Very pleased with Sceptre so far - install was a breeze and I was happy they included the DP cable to hit 144hz right out of the box.

Amazing For Gaming❗️
The overall product is amazing one thing I am upset about is the picture and brightness quality do not worry it doesn’t make any difference for me but it would be nice for the picture quality and brightness to be a tad bit better however for gaming it’s amazing you can really tell the difference from going to a 60hz monitor to a 144hz one.
