An entertaining graphic adaptation of the oldest military treatise in the world. Hailed as the oldest philosophical discussion on military strategy, Sun Tzu’s The Art of War has been adapted as a graphic novel by award-winning illustrator Pete Katz. In this collectible thread-bound edition, the narrative focuses on a teacher instructing a pupil on the main points of Sun Tzu’s treatise, with vibrant battle scenes interspersed throughout. Issues such as planning, tactics, maneuvering, and spying are illustrated with full-color scenes, so that readers may gain a greater understanding of principles from the fifth century BC. Review: Conquered My Coffee Table & My Boredom! - Alright, "The Art of War" as a graphic novel? I was skeptical. I pictured tiny, angry stick figures and lots of confusing arrows. Boy, was I wrong! This thing is actually brilliant, and dare I say, pretty darn funny in places. Five stars for making ancient military strategy something I actually wanted to read. First off, the art is fantastic. It brings all those classic Sun Tzu lessons to life in a way that my brain (which usually prefers pictures of cats) can actually process. I learned more about flanking maneuvers than I ever thought possible, and I might even try some of these tactics in my next board game night. Watch out, Brenda, your Scrabble empire is about to fall. Seriously though, it's a super engaging read. It takes these timeless strategies and makes them accessible and, believe it or not, entertaining. I half expected to be quizzed by a tiny general after each chapter, but instead, I just found myself chuckling at some of the illustrations and actually understanding concepts that used to sound like ancient gobbledygook. If you've ever been curious about "The Art of War" but were too intimidated (or, let's be honest, too sleepy) to tackle the original, grab this graphic novel. It's like learning, but without the homework. Highly recommend for aspiring strategists and people who just like cool pictures. Review: Kept Granddaughters Interest. - Great for kids. Great illustrations. Kept her interest.

Uniqueness and Quality
I thought this book for my husband he loves The art of war and he does love graphic novels so when I seen this I thought it would be an awesome fit for him! He says it has great literature as well as great artistic pictures in the book! He did say that the story of the book is a lot different than he expected. I love the fact that they put the string on the outside on the spine of the book I thought it made it look really neat and different!

The Art of War Graphic Novel
I love the uniqueness of the book with the strings in the binding. Very cool. My gripe is with the obvious cover up of the back cover mishap. I decided to not go thru the hassle of returning because I can still read it.

Worth the illustration and the read
Well written and illustrated, it was perfect for the son who likes the art of war doesn't want to read it. Fantastic idea with the comic book style and the hard back was a nice touch

Beautifully Illustrated Version of The Art of War
The Art of War Graphic Novel is a beautifully illustration version of Sun Tzu handbook for military strategy. The book is interestingly wrapped - it looks like a hard bound book, but when you look at it more closely, you’ll notice that the book is actually a paperback book that has a hardbound front and back cover. The spine of the book is also double wrapped with a thin red cotton rope. It’s a small detail, but it’s very attractive and unique looking, and definitely adds to the overall outer appearance of the book. The illustrations and written adaptation of the book is very well done. It was interesting for my son to read and the adaptation made it much easier for him to understand and digest the teachings. While there are some images of soldiers being dispatched in the book, it wasn’t overly graphic - it was actually much more subdued that most superhero comics available today. That said, there are instances where you will see blood spatter/blood on weapons, so be aware if your kids are reading this book. The entire book consists of 127 pages and is a relatively quick and enjoyable read, if you’re interested in military strategy. Overall, if you enjoyed The Art of War, or are looking to get an easier to digest version of the book, this is a great graphic novel to read.

Super Fantastico!
Excelente novela gráfica de uno de los libros más importantes de la historia, El arte de la guerra. A los adultos les encantará, pero lo conseguí para que mi hijo de 10 años le presentara estas increíbles ideas. Le encantó. Muy bueno para los niños también.

Great version of this excellent and timeless book
Wonderful interpretation of this classic text. A great reference to refer to. The Art of War is one of those books that appears simple, yet will take time to really digest and apply into life. Having a written copy and now a graphic version does make the occasional need to refer to a chapter a little quicker and a easier during a hectic life.

Nice book.
Purchased for my adult son for Christmas. He said he has read the book already but not as a graphic novel. He said the original was very dry reading and he looks forward to seeing the concepts illustrated. The illustrations look very nice and it is a hardcover.
