Really good book wich explains the science behind detailing, rather than advertising for expensive products. You also learn all the important glossary. Probably the best book you can find on detailing in 2018!

The best book on detailing. Period.

As a beginner to detailing, I found this book barely scratches the surface. It provides overly general information like "The engine bay is made of plastic and metals..." or "Roads are not clean," rather than getting straight to the point. Additionally, the lack of organization makes it difficult to navigate and condense key information. For example, instead of using tables or lists to outline contamination types, the authors opt for lengthy descriptions that don't offer much useful insight.

Not US items, wasn’t what I expected.

It doesn’t teach what to do instead it is defining what is what. This is not what I was looking for. In the interior detailing part. The author did it teach any steps on how to do it or what products to use. Instead the author just mentioned. What’s upholstery? What’s vinyl etc?The book itself is confusing and doesn’t show you the right path. Absolutely not recommended for beginners.

The techniques mentioned here for car detailing are somehow outdated. Otherwise the book is needful. Detailing accessories availability should be mentioned.

Great dad gift, though be prepared for a lot of info packed into one page

So I stumbled upon this by chance, mostly looking for some detailing supplies.Couldn't believe it was literally being published a week after I saw it listed so it would hopefully be bang up to date - and I wasn't disappointed.I'd describe this as a detailers bible. The joy of this book is that it covers everything well enough so that both beginners and novices and experts can learn from this - a rare thing indeed.The good news is as I said that they cover everything, in details, with pictures, product suggestions, explanations of techniques and issues you might encounter. It's actually very well laid out.Furthermore, I liked the fact that they explain different types of paintwork, what you need to do to work with it, the kinds of defects you might encounter etc.I don't think I've come across any similar or competing book on the subject of detailing and for me, as a serious hobbyist I'm really impressed by the book. I've had a read of relevant sections and no put it in my detailing garage so I can reference it when required - excellent.I like the fact that they also suggest methods and systems that you can choose to employ. To me in some ways, this is like an indexed, thought out and well laid out static version of detailingworld.com. It's got similarly useful information but its just more manageable - not that it'll keep me away from the site haha.I'd recommend this as a great resource to anyone who wants to hone their detailing technique or even as a gift to those who enjoy detailing but might still have a thing or two to learn.Sure it's not cheap, but it's worth every penny and it is a very specialist subject.If I had only one criticism, it'd be that in some ways it'd be nice to have more specific product suggestions throughout.
