HJC HJ-09 Series DARK SMOKE Pinlock Ready Helmet Shield - CL-15 CL-16 CL-17

The shield is a nice tint level. Being an OEM part, it’s good quality and fits perfectly.

I just received my visor in the mail and it is nice. It tinted just how I expected it to be and it looks great on my helmet and me. I don't know if it will be too dark for night time. But I'm passenger(backpack) 🙂, so it's all good. It snapped on just fine and it fits my helmet perfectly. My helmet is an HJC CS-R3 for reference.

Very easy and quick install on my HJC CL-17. I have a size large helmet and there is a SLIGHT gap on the bottom section of the helmet (see pictures) but it is still a good fit and works. You can see perfectly from the inside of the helmet, and avoid being seen from the outside. I have not driven with the visor in the dark yet but I will update when I do

I looked at an HJC video on Youtube to see how to install this. Once I figured it out it took all of about 1 minute to change out my clear visor. No tools either. The Dark Smoke visor is dark enough to offer privacy but can still be used at night. I don't need sunglasses anymore unless the sun is low in the sky and in the face. The optics are as good as the original equipment clear visor. It will fog up in cooler weather however so I have since installed a clear pin lock visor with much success. A real good purchase.

This is an official visor made by HJC, not a knock-off. Many reviews complained that the cheap ones didn't fit properly, or had other material issues, but I can safely say that this unit does not suffer from these flaws. The visor is easy to see through, and provides a nice dimming while not reducing fine detail in your view. I will be using mine during afternoon track day events, and didn't want a mirrored-reflective visor which may blind other people on course -- this should cut down the glare without risking others' safety. I dropped a star because of the price -- this was about 25% the cost of the helmet I just mounted it on, which seems somewhat steep. The seller shipped it promptly, and I got it within a week.

For my purposes, this has worked out perfect. I use it for racing, which this has made much easier, particularly in the later evening when the sun is low. There's nothing worse than coming around a corner and being blinded by the sun. It is reasonably dark, enough so that if you were using this on a street bike, I'd suggest having another option for evening. Fit on the helmet was like factory, and this shield seems to hold up as well as I would expect any shield to hold up. Very happy with it.

Not as dark as my Bell visor. It's a nice shade though. Seems to have a little green hint to it. You still get good privacy just not super dark. I wouldn't ride after dark with it. Good for early morning or dusk though. Super quick change though. That's awesome!

Easy to install, fits great and looks great. Press the small tabs on the side of the helmet and the visor pops right off. Then snap in the new visor. Love the look of the dark smoke. I did try riding at night and it’s “doable”. I wouldn’t recommend using it at night unless you had to.

Works as designed, it is an OEM part, so it fits and looks exactly as it supposed to...

Perfect! From the outside you get the dark stealth look but not too dark for riding during cloudy days. Perfect...just what I was looking for.
