CAP Olympic Trap & Shrug Bar with Elevated Grip, 500-Lb Capacity

Bargain! This is an OLYMPIC (2") frame for upper trapezius (shrugs) and squats. Excellent construction, durable for sure, great welds and fasteners. Weighs about 28 pounds per the bathroom scale. Packaged well, simple assembly. 17mm bolts go through from the outside: the set of four longer bolts, washers and 17mm nylon locking nuts are for the weight bars and framing, while the other set of four shorter bolts are for the support framing only. NO TOOLS INCLUDED so you will need a 17mm open-ended wrench (or crescent wrench), ratchet, and 17mm socket for easiest assembly. Helps to have two people holding things aligned during assembly, but it was not at all difficult for just me (I assembled it on the gate of my truck). If you like, save a few bucks by purchasing a color that nobody wants (it was green for me and I am fine with it) and purchasing a can of quality spray paint for the exact color you prefer.

This trap bar has been great for its intended purpose. Just received this today, but assembled it fairly easily and did some lifts to try it out. I think this is going to be an affordable and helpful tool in our home gym. I wish the handlebars had some texture but we can always wrap them or buy some gloves, so no big whoop, just be aware if that matters to you.

This trap bar exceeded my expectations. Super easy to assemble—every hole lined up perfectly, all the hardware was included, and the instructions were clear (not always a given with gym equipment). I almost bought a used one off Facebook, but this was *new* and *cheaper*... and honestly, I’m glad I went this route.The build feels solid and the finish looks great. Only minor complaint: one of the weight sleeves is a little tight with my Rogue plates. If the angle isn’t just right, it takes a little shimmy to get the weight on or off. Not a dealbreaker, but worth noting. I've had it for about 6 months in a garage in the humid TN summer. Haven't noticed any rust spots, and also haven't performed any maintenance on it, so it seems to be rust resistant on its own. There is no knurling on the handles.For the price and overall quality, I’d absolutely buy it again—still a great lift for your buck.

Doesn’t come assembled but once put together it’s very solid for the price! Great home gym equipment for deadlifts. Better than using regular barbell for deadlifts, saves yourself from bending over too much and straining your lower back for older folks like myself! . Love it 🙏🏽🏋🏽‍♂️

I put this beast together easily. It’s not one solid piece of metal like the more expensive hex bars but once everything was tightened, it’s a solid hex bar.Feels very sturdy and built to last. The paint quality is nice and the metal is nice and thick. I bought the blue one because it was the cheapest and color did not matter to me. I only loaded two 45’s on each side but it handled it well. I don’t plan to lift heavy due to back issues (the reason why I got this.)I’m 5’4 so I stand on blocks to get a deeper squat since this has a built-in stand to prevent your weights from touching the ground.Very happy with this hex bar. Wish I bought it sooner.

Incredible quality considering the price for this trap bar. I got the 500 lbs version and was expecting relatively thin and light tubing for the price but this is a solid piece of equipment that exceeded my expectations. Additionally the pedestals allow for me to easily slide on my 45 lbs plates. I’m going to use some self sealing silicone tape on the handles to improve the grip. Also when you are assembling try not to use the suggested adjustable wrench shown in the directions and use a 17mm box end wrench to tighten the nuts. I highly recommend tightening the nuts AT LEAST a second time after you’ve assembled because this type of item is going to loosen them due to adding and removing weights plus picking up and setting down the bar. Otherwise just be prepared to check the nuts after the first few uses.

Easy to assemble and came with everything needed in box. Sturdy with a wide enough handle. Definitely easier on the back when doing dead lifts. If you want a deeper stretch, stand on a platform. No adjustability otherwise.

Really heavy duty bit of kit. Very happy with my purchase I found it much easier than deadlifting no back issues. freed up my Olympic bar for benching. Not difficult to put together just don't get the bolts mixed up. Really glad I got this when I did & at that price. Pukka.

Good hex bar. I use it with Olympic bumper plates and it's just fine. I only go up to about 140kg or so but it's a solid unit and it's clear that it's not going to break. The height is good in that the bumper plates hover just off the ground about 1cm, so you can slide them on and off without having to prop up the bar. Overall would recommend for anyone setting up a home gym.
