I’m extremely pleased with the VES SF-12000-01 Shutter Mount Exhaust Fan. Right out of the box, you can tell it’s very well made. The construction feels solid and durable, not flimsy like some fans in this category. Installation was straightforward and easy. Everything lined up well, and it was up and running in no time. One feature I really appreciate is the three-speed control. Being able to choose between different speeds makes it easy to balance airflow and noise depending on what I need at the moment. The shutters work perfectly. They open and close smoothly, seal well when the fan is off, and do a great job of keeping outside air and bugs from coming back in. Air movement is strong, and it does an excellent job ventilating the space. Overall, this is a high-quality exhaust fan that performs exactly as advertised. I would definitely recommend it to anyone needing reliable ventilation for a garage, shop, barn, or similar space.

I bought this fan for my garage where my German Shepard sleeps. The installation was fairly easy (had to cut a hole in the stucco to vent fan to outside wall). Installed the fan @ top of garage wall, added a electrical plug in wand that has a off/on switch so I can turn on/off without any problems. The fan runs a little loud but it’s in the garage & I usually only have to run the fan for a few hrs to cool down the garage. It works great, well made with louvered metal slats that open when fan is turned on, closes when fan is turned off. I used a weather resistant sealer around the opening and water proof sealant to keep inter wall protected from rain or water. Very satisfied with purchase and my dog loves the cooler garage too. I would highly recommend this well made product.

I am completely happy with this fan purchase so far. It is very quiet on low speed and on high it starts to sound like one of those Everglades air boats! The shutters work flawlessly and the motor spins so freely that once power is off it free spins for quite awhile. That tells me the blades must be pretty well balanced. My only complaint is that the speed control is mounted to the fan. I want this fan up higher and don't want to get a ladder every time I want to turn it on or to change the speed. It's no fault of the fan, just the way I ant to use it and I'll figure something out. If I need another fan like this, I would buy this one again. One tip: the frame should have an opening of 24.5 inches square, built with the 2x4's laying down. I framed it in like a window before the fan arrived and had to make adjustments.

The VES 24" exhaust fan came with slightly dented shutters. The box was in good condition, so I don't think it was a shipping issue. The shutter material is very thin, so I just tweaked it by hand to "good enough." The fan works very well. It is well balanced and vibration is minimal. The one thing that concerns me is the motor gets very warm. I'm running this fan on high most of the time. If it lasts at least 2 years of heavy use that would be great!

It is impossible to tell from the Amazon pics, but this is a really well constructed assembly. All the parts appear to be very high quality, especially the outer shutter system. The motor housing is bolted to a thick aluminum frame, that is u believe tack welded together. The item is made in China (big letters on box) but appears to be craftsmanship quality. Lastly, it is really well protected inside shipping container.

It's super easy to install and powerful for my shop, works awesome. The only thing I would change is the speed control is mounted on the cage so it's hard to access when slower speeds are desired. I would want the speed control to be mounted on the wall, but this is a easy fix. Overall it's an awesome product and will be buying another one soon.

Well made solid fan. Have it installed in our 14x36 greenhouse running on a thermostat control. Fan keeps it much cooler and helps with humidity.

I bought this unit to ventilate an attic space. I considered buying a single-speed fan and a variable-speed controller but then the fire stat that I wanted to add for safety is not supposed to be used with an electronic speed control. So that left me with two alternatives - either settle for a single-speed fan or install one of these three-speed units. The problem with this unit is that the speed control is mounted right on the fan and will require some "reverse engineering" to relocate it to where it can be reached in the room. I have not installed it yet but have plugged it in and tested it and found it delivers a lot of air even on the lowest speed. It is a good quality, well-made unit. The louvers work very smoothly and it operates reasonably quiet compared to another fan which I have.
