Good product. Well packaged with clear instructions. Probably not great value in terms of quantity of mushrooms but not too bad either. Fun to grow your own. Mushrooms some in waves. I'm on wave three and still going. Very weighty and good to eat. Easy to grow.

So I brought this as I have been dying to grow edible mushrooms for ages. Finally took the plunge and was absolutely amazed at the results from this tiny little kit. Literally 10 days after first water spray I've had great results. I've included pictures as they have grown. Granted I could have had open mushrooms but didn't want the bigger ones to overshadow the little ones so I ended up picking them. Used the mushrooms in a lasagne and they taste amazingly fresh. And all with next to no effort. I've put mine in my kitchen away from the window on the side in a corner that doesn't get direct sun, draught or extreme heat. I spray once before bed and once in the morning which is why I've put it in the kitchen as I spend most of my time there. Granted I've forgotten to spray a few times but that hasn't hindered the growth as you can see. My sister is amazed as she saw a little one on video chat on the Tuesday then saw it in person on the Saturday and couldn't believe how quick it had grown and then the following day I showed her again and it had grown again and she was like omg no way! My neice and nephew love seeing how they're doing and how they are growing also. Well worth it and it's only been a few weeks I've already had about 10 xl mushrooms about 12-15 medium and 30 small due to coming off with the bigger ones. I will definately be buying it again. Five stars.

Lovely kit, well presented with easy instructions. We did only get one mushroom so a rather expensive crop! But it was absolutely massive .

I bought these as part of my son’s Christmas present. They then went away and I wondered if they would survive. I’ve had two pictures this week of the forest of beautiful white mushrooms appearing and then boom! Growing like mad. It’s a fabulous way to have fresh mushrooms. Great gift. Picture show 3 days apart. Wonderful… and then you can enjoy eating them.

Maybe it's the hot weather, maybe not I followed the instructions to the letter - all we got after a good month was a single mushroom - that's it. One Single Mushroom. To be fair, that's incorrect. We also got a houseful of flies that came from the growing compound supplied. All in all, I could have brought a supermarket shelf full of mushrooms for what this cost - I would have got a lot more of them, but less flies

This was a Christmas pressie. What a fab idea! Sadly, bit of a waste of money. After about 2 weeks started growing a few mushrooms, managed to harvest about 300g which were lovely. Since that only 1 more mushroom in two weeks, when you look closely there does appear to be many starting, but sadly not growing further. We have been diligent with these, and sprayed morning and evening, kept in the spare, west facing room , with an ambient temperature of approx. 19 deg C, not on the window-sill, no draughts. Not sure where to go with this now. So far very expensive mushrooms!

I am a BIG mushroom lover & use them in a lot of my meals, Because of the lockdown & the coronavirus I was having difficulty getting a supermarket delivery slot (despite being disabled & classed as at risk due to some medical problems) & as I live alone & have no help close to me this was becoming an issue for me so I decided to start growing my own produce rather than keep worrying about where or when I was next going to be able to get food from. This mushroom kit has been wonderful, It had everything with it that I needed to set it up & was really easy to do. The only additional thing I needed was a spray bottle for the water. I was able to pick my 1st home grown mushrooms, Which were a really good size after just 9 days which was fantastic & they tasted fabulous!, After the 9 days i had a total of about 15 mushrooms. Since these i've had a gap of 10 days with nothing but i'm now having more grow again. I have found that tying the top of the plastic bag loosly with an elastic bag works much better than their suggestion of just placing the cut cardboard on the top & I only spray with water every 2 days & not daily. I'm really impressed with this kit & am looking forward to having my next lot of home grown mushrooms with my dinner. I am going to be purchasing another kit so that I have more of a supply but thats only because I eat A LOT of mushrooms!.

Follow the instructions to the letter. Do not ignore the great advice that is incuded with this product. Why did i buy the kit? Well as single oldie living with disabilities I can't get to a shop that sells mushrooms singularly, my only choice was a punnet of about 18 button mushrooms - too many to eat before they go off. So I bought the kit. After following the instructions, and having an occasional peek under the lid, I noticed the fungi growing on the top. Once you have mixed the special soil that is included with the exact amount of water, ensure you apply it over the whole of your plastic lined box, ensure it has a rough texture, do not smooth it out. I wish I could send you a pic of the 1st harvest! But I picked them all and but the babies in a hot frying pan with olive oil, garli, butter and seasoning. I'm now onto harvest number 3. After 8 days spray (not pour) water onto your harvest twice a day, without fail, the top surface should be moist, neither dry or waterlogged. In around 16 days you will have a lovely crop to enjoy. Warning, do not pull the mushrooms straight out of the soil, carefully twist the stem until it breaks away, pulling can cause damage to the substructure. Finally, and this is my Masterchef type tip, carfully wipe the mushroom before preparing, use a pastry brush, a bit of soil won't do you any harm, washing in water just makes them slimey. Be a devil, try tearing the whole mushroom into pieces, instead of getting jiggy with a knive. This gives your mushroom a better texture that can absorb more flavour. I have not been paid in anyway for this review. Go buy!
