Review: Very comfortable pick - Update 3/2/2021: The sound this pick makes after it is 'broken in' (much like a leather shoe is better after breaking in) is warm, delightful and similar to a thumb sound. If you prefer a bright twangy sound then this pick is not for you. If you need a soft pick that can be used for melody this will work after the break in. I had to buy another set to for the tan one (my favorite and the thinnest) just in case I lost my original. Give it a month of daily strumming and the sound transforms. Original review: I like this product. I am a new player and this is my first soft pick purchase. I have a tenor ukulele. I choose these over felt picks for the grip hole, relatively thinner mm vs the felt ones and because I saw a review showing felt vs leather and didn't dig the super sofft sound of his felt picking. I struggle to keep a pick in my hand and this is so nice. No migrating because the hole is big enough for my fingers to pinch together. It is also super comfortable. I tend to hold things tightly and get hand and finger fatigue. I think the softness and flexibility of this pick helps so I am comfortable playing longer. I may consider it more of a struming rather than a picking pick. I can pick a melody with this, however I tend to pick incorrect strings more often than with standard. Could be my novice, the considerable thickness increase over standard picks or just that I haven't played with the leather long enough. I do prefer the tan colored pick. They appear to be the same thickness, each within a mil, nonetheless, the black and white ones feel different. I would chock that up to the nature of the material. Different pieces of leather just feel different. Review: Forget Felt, Leather is Lovely - These picks are simply great. I bought these for a Ukulele. I'm a first year player. Plastic picks sound too harsh, felt picks sound dull and wear out fast, these picks however, are different. The sound produced is very mellow and close to a finger strum or pluck. The center cut out is a big improvement. The size of the pick and the cutout make this pick easy to hold and easy to use. I love these picks. Lohanu truly has a customer focused business. Before buying a tenor Uke from them and these picks, I never heard of them. But I have bought 5 Ukes now from desertcart, returned two, kept three. Lohanu is the most recent inexpensive brand that I've purchased. MY Lohanu tenor is the best of the five and the build quality far exceeds the others. From the packaging, the build quality, the guarantee, and the little extras that you might not notice but if you do, you will come to agree - Lohanu Rocks!

Make Sure You Want Center-Hole Leather Picks
These seem like great picks for ukulele (I have 25, so I am familiar with a fairly wide range). The sound is great, not so strident as a plastic or nylon guitar pick, not so soft as a felt pick (I will still be 95% a finger-style player, but I wanted to try some picks). But, . . . I really do not like the center hole aspect of these or other leather picks (I purchased two different kinds โ Lohanu (significant center hole) and Diamond (rather large center hole). To my feel, the open center hole SIGNIFICANTLY lessens the sense that you are in control of the pick, and thus lessens the ability to have much nuance in playing. With no intention of wanting to sound condescending, if you are buying these picks to purely strum simple up-down-up-down-up-down, and dropping the pick is an issue, these may be great. But you lose a LOT of sensitive feel (almost all, in my sense) with the center hole. Frankly, I just ordered solid leather picks, and Iโll probably give these, and the other center-hole picks, to others.

My forever ukulete
No complaints on received product. It came undamaged exactly when I was told it would be delivered. Lohanu sent me a heads-up email explaining tuning would be a daily chore until the instructment was broken in... boy were they right but itโs good practice to tune at the start of every session regardless. Itโs getting better with each passing day as they said it would. The built-in tuning is a nice touch and accurate with my Super Snark tuner. This uku is well constructed and sounds great. If there was a down side I find the response going electric is somewhat shallow. Iโll continue to adjust the controls until itโs acceptable. But the ease of play down the neck is exceptional. The arced body gives it a deep full sound that hangs in the air. Very pleasing! With 5 Stars for fit and finish, all joints and facings solid this is a great buy at this price point. Well suited for beginner & pro alike. It an ukulete that will follow you handily down your musical journey.

One of my favorite kinds of pick
I originally got some of these for my mandolin, since hard guitar picks were way too loud. I also use them with my guitar, an acoustic baritone guitar, and my octave mandolin. These are the easiest to grip of any picks I've used, which is great. I also don't ever have to worry about clumsily scratching my instruments with them, hehe.) I really like the low pick noise and I also find that I like the variation in stiffness that comes with them as they wear (or suffer damage by going through the wash). Sometimes a fresh one is nice, sometimes (especially for really fast strumming) a worn-down one is perfect. Generally, I think the stiffness and thickness of a brand new one is more than I want from this kind of pick, but that probablem goes away quickly.

Very impressed
I have been looking for the perfect pick for my uke and they all seem to fall short. Happened to watch the video for these and thought I'd give them a try. I know a lot of you uke players don't like picks and don't think it's traditional, but my fingernails just aren't built for it. So anyhow, I really really like these. They, number one, are comfortable to play with. Have used them on several of my ukes, which means with different strings, and they really sound good. You don't get that plinking sound like when you use plastic picks. And some leather picks just start out way to hard. These are firm, but I wouldn't say exactly stiff. They do seem like they will soften a little over time, but that should still work out okay. I've tried them with all different types of songs and just give out a nice sound. Very happy I tried them!

Pick of the picks for ukulele
I love these picks. I just started using a pick for some songs on my ukulele. The felt ukulele picks are thick and clumsy and did not work for me. I also thought the hard plastic picks sound too harsh for the uke and they were awkward to hold. This pick was perfect I had no trouble holding it and the sound was great. I ordered another set to stash away. the quality is good because I have been really using mine and it is not showing wear....

Not durable
These were super nice when I first got them, but they donโt hold up very well. I play my electric bass a lot, generally two shows a week and some practicing in between. The leather just doesnโt hold up the best. These picks do give a nice sound though.

Easy to hold
Chose these to play the ukulele. I have arthritis in my fingers, these are great to grip & play with as finding it hard to play without a pick now, plastic ones I found too clicky but these sound nice.

These are very nice leather ukulele picks.
I bought these as a gift for myself because I had wanted to try leather picks and these are quite affordable. I have previously used only felt picks to play hymns on my ukulele, so I looked forward to seeing how these performed. They have a very nice feel in your hand. They are smooth and stay in your hand well. They yield a slightly more defined sound than a felt pick. They are very good quality and I expect they will last a long time. I am glad I bought them.

Perfect
Just started to use a pick for my ukulele..felt are too soft, solid leather too hard, giving a harsh tone....these seem to be just right. Will be even better when they're played in..

Leather Picks: What An Interesting Concept!
I purchased these to use on my ukeleles. Guitar picks are much too loud on a uke, as they were always mesnt to be strummed lightly or finger-picked. My personal challenge was finding an inbetween solution, as I dislike the dry feel of felt picks, but also found my natural nails were literally wearing thin from playing and practice! The leather used is very thick and prepped and coated. The coating makes them much less flexible than one would expect, and hence create a very โloudโ effect on ukelele nylon or fluorocarbon strings. The triangular shape with the center cut out makes them easy to hold, or grip, even though the picks are a bit large. They will, however, soften and become more flexible with time, and therefore eventually produce a softer sound. I suggest working them in separately from playing, if you can. Overall, a very good idea for the uke, although a softer leather and smaller size would be preferrable.
