From the internationally bestselling creator of Wreck This Journal, a scavenger hunt that leads you to explore your world and transform your findings through creativity and chance...Within the pages of The Pocket Scavenger, you’ll be instructed to go on an unusual scavenger hunt, collecting a spectrum of random items: something that is miniature, a stain that is green, something from the year you were born, a used envelope, and more. Once your quarry is in hand, you’ll apply an alteration dictated solely by chance: create a funny character, make it into a building, conceal it, add polka dots, remove a section, add stripes, scribble on top, fold, turn into an article of clothing, make it “pretty,” and so on.The results: you’ll be forced out of habitual ways of thinking or acting, discover new connections, and try things you might not have done on your own, creating a version of The Pocket Scavenger that is utterly unique, dependent on time, place, experience, and you. Review: Great workbook for artists or any creative individuals! - KerI Smith's workbooks are a lot of fun and get the creative juices flowing. They are super helpful if you are feeling blocked. When I was looking at the various titles that she had this one appealed to me though I was a bit frustrated that I couldn't see more of the workbook itself. I did a video on YouTube called The Pocket Scavenger by Keri Smith...a flip through.. my channel name is Curiosidades Extrano. I did the video so others that may be on the fence about purchasing such a great book could see a little bit more and it would help them make a decision about buying the book. I highly recommend her line of books.

Not just for kids!
Full grown woman here! I love this book! I've been using it to make collages incorporating found objects. I'm getting a lot out of this as an adult by using it as a prompt/exercise book. I'm also having fun with the scavenging process! I sliced off the bottom portion of the book using a straight edge and an Xacto, so the prompts would be easier to flip through. I noticed when first gathering items, that they acted like bookmarks, giving me the same prompts over and over as I "randomly" flipped to a page. This also means I'll have a little flipbook of prompts, even when I'm done (it also means I need to renumber the pages so I can use the table of contents to find where each item goes! Lol!)
