Done the job well
Used for my miinidisc player to bose soundbar because of its limited inputs, worked flawlessly

Does the job 👍🏻
Idiot proof to set up & it does exactly what it says on the box ...... only thing is the optic cables put in the unit don’t seem to ‘snap’ in place strongly - I used parcel tape to secure as the unit is out of sight. All in all for the money & what it does I’m happy !

Great little unit!
Smashing little optical switcher, bought to connect two optical sources to my surround system which only has one input. Does the job surprisingly well. One thing which does puzzle me....what do they coat the pressed steel box and the remote sensor with? Tried to attach the box to the horizontal surface of my tv stand with blu tac, no chance! The blu tac stuck firmly to the stand but the little metal box fell off virtually straight away despite several firm presses. The little remote sensor came with its own double sided sticky pad that stuck firmly to the tv stand but the little sensor was having non of it and fell off almost immediately!Great little unit....shame about it’s non stick properties.

Works fine top price.
Works fine, seems happy with 5v slaved from my WD TV Live which I can now route DTS from along with my Blu-ray unit to my sound processor - unlike my useless Samsung TV which refuses to even let DTS passthrough let alone decode it. The IR remote sensor is on the end of a cable so you can hide the box itself and just position the sensor somewhere unobtrusive with line of sight.

Nice And Neat
Like with the old start sockets, Soundbars never seem to have enough TOSlink sockets. Mine only has one, but with a PVR, Freesat box, DVD and the TV, I was never going to have enough, especially if I wanted to use the Freesat box to listen to radio without putting the TV on. This unit is small and neat. It sits between the Freesat and Freeview boxes. The green LEDs are not very bright. In fact in daylight they are almost impossible to see. It was easy to set up. But, came without a power supply even if it did have a USB power cable. Luckily I had a spare 5 volt USB plug to use. The remote is simple and does what it should. Annoyingly it does switch the Freeview box on, and off. Not a bad little gizmo.

Excellent But.... See description.....
A highly recommended unit which eliminates the need to plug and unplug the SPDIF plugs each time you want to change an input or output. If you are using only one of units the remote works well, and there appears to be no loss in sound quality. They are well made and appear "robust".I use two of these units, one for four outputs - the other for four inputs. This enables me to switch to or from any of the four devices connected. Again it works very well indeed using the switch on the front panel. The issue is that the remote controls are all set to the same frequency. In consequence if you have two units as I do, you will find either the remotes supplied will operate both the units at the same time. If each remote were on a different frequency they would operate each unit independently, which would be more practical.

Probably okay for some people, but not all.
For the relatively low price, I think this is fair value for money. However, it may not be a good option, depending on the quality of your current SPDIF output. In my case, I noticed lower sound quality when I plugged my existing Toslink cable output into my amplifier via this splitter, compared to when I plugged it straight into my amp. In other words, things sounded worse when they were routed via this switch. To me, the difference was a slight increase in sound muddiness when using the splitter.I am not sure everyone would have this problem, as the device providing your optical sound output may be comparable quality to the sound that comes out of this splitter. In my case, my sound was coming for a Squeezebox Touch, which, despite being quite old, has good quality optical output.I wondered if this was all in my mind, and that there could actually be no difference because 'digital is digital' and 'optical is optical' (rather than copper wires, which could in theory result in sound degradation). However, I reckon the quality of the electrical components in the switch would surely have an affect. Maybe I am wrong, so I suggest buying it anyway, doing a blind test if possible, and then returning it if dissatisfied. Maybe you won't notice any difference, which would then make this splitter a four-star purchase (not five-star, because of the absence of a 1A USB power supply, which is not very common these days).

Does the job perfectly
The product did exactly what it was supposed to. Really well made, came with all the right leads and instructions. Easy to use, works perfectly, and the IR control is perfectly sensitive and worked well.
