I used this to treat my wooden shed , it is a thin liquid so it goes a long way and is very quick and easy to spread along the timber of the shed , a little goes a long way too. The tin contained enough to add to coats to my 9ft by 6ft timber shed and there is enough for another coating left in the tin. The light brown colour is very nice , it has breathed new life into my shed it looks almost like new again, I've noticed that water now beads on the shed so it has excellent waterproofing protection and also protects against UV damage from the sun. The can was easy to open and use , pour a little at a time and use it with caution, ppe is needed and care , but it's easy to use , doesn't smell too strong, it's very thin with an oily feel to it , but it glides from the brush well but can drip and be wasted if too much is added. Overall it's a fantastic product that treats wood brilliantly, it adds a waterproof protection and the colour is evenly distributed and looks fantastic.

I bought this to match the treatment on my new shed and it blended in perfectly. The colour is spot on and the coverage is very good. It goes on smoothly and the finish looks high quality, giving the wood a nice even coat. It also seems to offer solid protection, which is exactly what I wanted for outdoor timber. I’m impressed enough that I plan to buy more to treat my entire fence. For the price, the value for money is excellent considering the amount you get and the quality of the result. Dries pretty quickly, it came be quite strong fumes so make sure you're in a ventilated area.

I used the 5L Wood Protective Treatment in Light Brown to treat my garden fence and outdoor furniture, and I’m thoroughly impressed with the results. Application was a breeze. The formula is smooth and easy to apply, whether you're using a brush or sprayer, and it absorbs into the wood nicely without any streaks or uneven patches. One coat already made a big difference, but after two coats, the wood looked well-sealed and protected. The waterproofing and UV protection properties are fantastic! After a couple of heavy rainfalls, I can see the water beading up on the surface, and the wood looks as good as new, with no signs of fading. I feel confident that this treatment will provide long-lasting protection against the elements.

I have a 6ft heavy duty picnic table I built myself in need of some TLC. I have used various timber treatments over the years and non have been that good including garden furniture oil which went mouldy. The can managed to do 2 coats on the table topside and underside only just, it was tight but the treatment is very good, it soaks into the dry wood really well like creasote and looks really nice. It has a waxy feeling and smell when it's dry. Yet to see what it looks like after some rain. The colour looks good though.

I bought this to paint my gates which were treated last year but with an inferior product which hasn't lasted. I have used two coats applied over two days to give ample drying time in between. Luckily the weather was set fair, so I had the luxury of time. The product has the consistency of water so careful application is needed to avoid runs. Having said that, it went on a treat and because I was using a darker colour than the original, I could easily see where I had missed a bit! The drying time was very good, but then the weather is particularly warm at the moment. I applied the treatment early in the morning before the sun came around to shine on the gates as they are south facing at the front of the property. This worked well as there was time for the product to soak in and dry before it was baked. The final appearance has been admired by neighbours and I am happy with the product. I will see how good it really is after a winter as that seemed to be the time when my last application failed.

I don't normally write reviews, but I felt I had to on this occasion. I spent a lot of time researching wood preservatives, and this one consistently received positive reviews and recommendations. I'm pleased to say it has more than lived up to my expectations. As you can see from the photos, I used the Light Brown colour on some softwood sleepers. The transformation was amazing. They now look like the original dark sleepers you would buy rather than faded or weathered timber. I also used it on my garden gates. In the photos, the gate on the left has been treated, while the one on the right had yet to be done at the time. The difference is remarkable, and the treated gate looks fantastic. The product was very easy to apply. It's quite thin, so it goes on effortlessly and soaks into the wood well. It also dried very quickly, although I did apply it during warm weather. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this product. In fact, I've already bought a second tin because I'm planning to use it on some fencing as well. Bravo to the manufacturers for producing such a great product. Now let's hope it continues to live up to its reputation and keeps all of my wood well protected for years to come.

We have been using Barrettine Wood Protective Treatment on our products for the last few years, and we can recommend it. The light brown colour seems to be the most popular and it is the shade that we use the most. It really brings out the wood grain and improves the look of outdoor furniture, and it helps to protect the wood for up to a year, before it needs to be re-applied. It is easy to use, dries quickly and your paint brushes can be cleaned easily in warm soapy water as it is water based. We have tried other Wood Protective Treatments but in our opinion this is the best.
