Like black pepper but better in every way
Sort of a citrus-y, notably tastier form of pepper. Black pepper is bland in comparison.

Perfect for wild game and smoke
I've always added good ground and cracked black pepper with a concoction of other spices including caraway, juniper berry, clove and cardamom to wild duck, bear, goose and venison. This replaces all but the caraway. Has a bit of a citrus, clove, cardamom undertone. I'm still experimenting with it, but it goes extremely well with grilled and smokey wild game, as well as pressure cooked wild fowl with onion and celery. A very complex flavor. I still do add some cracked T. Pepper corns to spike up the pepper heat, but I like it hot, so your results may vary. Will be trying it on maple glazed smoked and grilled salmon and lake trout shortly, I expect it to be fabulous!

Great taste for a pepper substitute
Lovely taste and a great value. Great for spice blends or a pepper substitute. It's quite nutty and peppery

Such a peculiar spice
I needed this for my Elderscrolls cookbook and it did not disappoint. A citrusy pepper corn. Very potent. Pretty cool! Will try to find other recipes I can add this to.

For me- a "regular spice" & at a very good price !
I've used Grains of Paradise regularly "post-stroke" (along with hot peppers...)& they work out very well- for me ! (The only thing I could taste at first was hot pepper- the Grains smooth any severity off a bit ! For me anyway !)

Not as strong as I expected
First time using this spice. Tasted right out of jar. It's okay. Like a mild black pepper. I just expected a more robust flavor. This spice tastes like it can easily be overwhelmed by other spices. New recipe calls for it, giving it a go. Arrived ahead of posted time. Well packed.

Very interesting. I use it all the time.
When this first arrived I was very excited to try it because it is new to me. It smells awful, like motor oil, but the taste is great. I use it all the time.

Good deal
I'm not a chef by any means and had no clue this even existed before I found a recipe I found called for it. I couldn't find it at any local stores and was very pleased to find it on Amazon. The bottle is super nice and glass. If I ever use it all I'm planning to use it to hold my herb mixtures I make. I personally think it's a bit pricey, but then again I have no clue what it goes for so I was happy to pay it.
