The new Toot 2. 0 with the added silicone key pads is a child's perfect next step after learning to play the recorder, and is ideal for preparing a student to play the flute. This set includes a Nuvo First Note lip plate which can be used in the very early lessons as the student is learning fingering and posture. When the student is ready, remove the First Note lip plate and replace it with the regular lip plate which is also provided. Like the Dood, the Toot brings a new richness of sound to any ensemble and teaches students important woodwind skills.

It’s held up well so far — nothing has broken, which is impressive considering it gets tossed in and out of her backpack. Preschooler asked for a red flute for Christmas. Found this and I am impressed. It works well and is small enough for little hands. Not quite small enough for my child's hands, but not too far off. Sound is decent for a plastic instrument. I love that there is a training mouthpiece and a real one for later. All of it comes in a compact zipper case. Overall I'm very pleased with the quality and value.
