Housing LEAKS!
Bought Goldenrod 495 and 496 back in January and just got around to installing them on a Diesel tank. After spending a couple of hours plumbing the filters, nipples, and fuel delivery hose together, I opened the shutoff valve and fuel immediately began leaking from top of the filter where the acrylic housing threads into the manifold. Removed housing numerous times to double, triple, quadruple check that gasket installed correctly and also experimented with varying degrees of tightening with no success. I also tried swapping the acrylic housing with the second filter. There were a number of other reviews that reported leaking but they were in the minority so I ignored them which was a mistake. I would look at a different product or at a minimum, install one goldenrod component at a time and verify it doesn't leak before plumbing the rest of the system.

Difficult to get tight to stop leaking
I like goldenrod products. Decided to step away from normal canister filter to this model w/new transfer tank. Persistent leaking at top threads between bowl and housing. Undone and redone 2x to make sure gasket good and not cross threaded. Bought Goldenrod wrench to make sure as tight as can be. Snapped Goldenrod wrench (already returned) trying to tighten. STILL leaking. Forget it, going back to canister style. I would return but outside of return window. Save yourself some stress and frustration, stick with canister style. (FYI, the drain at the bottom will come from factory wide open so be sure to tighten TIGHT before first use)

Just installed this weekend on my diesel tank. The water drain was not close. Trying to close it --broke! Hat to epoxy it shut until I get a new filter bowl. Not a goldenrod!

Very Low quality!
Very cheap! Leaked everywhere. Bought two both leaked will buy another brand. Manufacturing defect on both filter housings.
