Not as comprehensive as the title infers
I found this publication disappointing for two key reasons: i. The title of the book includes the word "comprehensive". It is indeed comprehensive in that it pretty much covers the whole gamut of injuries/pathologies you are likely to come across in the sports medicine field. Unfortunately, though, the detail for many of the injuries is relatively scant and in no way could be considered "comprehensive". Perhaps the word "review" in the title should have been a give-away(?): if I had been studying for final exams, knew most of the detail but needed a quick review of pretty much everything, then as an aide-mémoire this would have been useful and I would have given it four stars. ii. Apart from medical imaging pictures, the book is very light on images. Some of the few drawings that the book contains are not of a particularly high standard. In summary - if you need a quick overview of virtually everything sports medicine related to a specific body region or topic then I would recommend this book. However, if like me, you are looking for significant detail on a particular injury I would recommend you look elsewhere e.g Clinical Sports Medicine by Peter Brukner and Karim Khan

A Comprehensive Exam Review
I found the text to be an especially thorough review of sports medicine material contained in subspecialty board exams. The online supplement of nearly 1,000 questions/answers is a valuable resource to finalize preparation for an exam.
