Yes, it is gluten and dairy free. I don't see why you couldn't open the capsule to sprinkle on food, however, I learned that if I hold my breath while taking a pill, it is much easier to swallow. The ingredients are hypromellose (vegetarian capsule), Microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and titanium dioxide (color). Contains Soy.
