This is the first one I ever purchased which i threw away within 24 hours. It smelt badly as if an electrical fault which stank out the kitchen. The taste was foul as it tasted of pure plastic as if plastic was being burned in to the water . If I could give no stars I would. I have had plastic kettles from elsewhere before which do not have this fault and it was appalling . I noticed the area around the element was going brown as if burning and assume this was melting the plastic giving the awful smell and taste . I think to be so bad its likely toxic and dangerous .
