Mary Tylor Naturals Pure Shea butter 2 lb Raw, Unrefined, Ivory From Ghana Africa — Great for Hair, Skin and DIY projects

I've just started making balms and have been wanting to make sure they are completely organic. This cuts and melts easily. There is a nutty smell to it i find pleasant. I have read on other reviews that it smells awful but this is not an awful odor. Being that I'm starting out I am very pleased and forsee purchasing this product again! I am editing to add that I am so happy with this product that I have ordered multiple times!!

I’ve used this brand many times. I’ve never had an issue with it. This time I purchased it and placed in a cool dry area in my home because i still had some left from my other batch. Once it was finished about 2 months later, I opened the new one and the rancid smell blew me away. At first I thought they changed something about the product. Since it was past the return date Amazon would not accept it back. Such a shame. I ended up throwing it away. This product is not cheap! I’ve been hesitant to order again

Smooth and creamy texture. Melts and blends smoothly when mixed with coconut oil and beeswax for a lovey lotion bar. I have never used Shea butter before so I don’t know if the smell is typical for this product. It is a little smelly. But I added a little fragrance oil and it worked out.

I love Mary Tylor products! I have bought so much of this for my homemade lotion. If I am too lazy to make lotion I just use the Shea butter on its own. I love the natural ingredients, quality, how soft it leaves your skin. All around wonderful product!

⭐ One-Star Review – Absolutely Disgusting Product I make cold process (CP) soap and have been purchasing shea butter for many years, so I know exactly what quality shea butter should look and smell like. This is by far the worst shea butter I have ever received, and it will be my first and last time ordering from this company. The product arrived looking contaminated and spoiled—it literally looks like a bag of mold growing and eating through the butter. The smell is horrible, moldy, and extremely unpleasant, not the natural nutty or earthy scent you’d expect from raw or unrefined shea butter. This odor is completely unacceptable and unusable for soap making or any cosmetic purpose. This is not a minor quality issue—this product appears unsafe, improperly stored, or completely spoiled. I would not use this on skin under any circumstances. Very disappointed and would strongly advise others to avoid this product if you care about quality and safety.

I used to buy this product religiously, but it’s been smelling terribly rancid lately. I’ve returned or thrown away the past few orders. It might be the plastic packaging, but even so - it shouldn’t smell the way it does.

I've been using organic raw Shea butter for years. I ordered this to make my whipped Body butter. pros- it was 1lb in weight .good texture , It can separate 2 8oz in one bag. CONS- it came in one bag with 2 ,8oz blocks sealed in plastic. You lose a bit in the wrapper. The worst Con it stinks ,its a murky gray color not my usual yellow color ,smells very very moldy ! I combined coconut oil ,and mango butter to this Shea butter hoping the stench would be overpowered"NO SUCH LUCK". I then add fragrances essential natural Oils ,had to use a lot to dial down the smell of moldy Shea smell.I tried to put some on to see if the moldy smell or vanish in the essential oil will take over on my body. But what I found out is The Moldy smell stays the essential oil does come to the surface but you still have a lingering mold smell I wouldn't advise anyone to buy this product at least not the shea butter, possibly I got a bad batch but I'm not willing to take this chance anymore .waste too much money going back to my original supplier hope this helps

I make a ton of natural products including CBD body butter. I care about the quality of what I put in my homemade products from the CBD to the beeswax. I have been using this organic brand for years and can say that it makes my body butter so smooth and moisturizing.
