This works well for rugs over kitchen carpet.
For years, we were constantly adjusting the positions of our kitchen rugs that are placed over low pile kitchen carpet. Having these rugs in front of the stove, refrigerator, and at the garage entrance greatly saves carpet wear at these high-use points. When we recently purchased new rugs, I looked for some kind of double sided tape that might help to keep the rugs in place. After applying this tape along two opposite sides of each rug, we have not had to adjust the rugs at all. The tape works as advertised, and our rug slipping days are over. I also tested ease of removal, and the rugs can be lifted up off the carpet with no residue on the carpet. The tape stays on the bottom of the rug. We are very satisfied with the performance. The only issue, and it is small, is that, when cutting the tape with scissors, the tape adhesive wants to stick to the scissors. A little bit of goo remover cleaned the scissors nicely. I would recommend wiping the scissors lightly with goo remover before cutting the tape to prevent sticking to the scissors. 😀

FINALLY
Over the past decade or two my wife tried every option we knew about or researched for keeping a rug of any size 'anchored' to our carpets. we purchased semi-rigid plastic sheet with hard, pointed protrusions, folded duct tape, Velcro, waffle rubber and many more. Nothing worked. We gave up. While browsing the web for something unrelated we happened by your sticky tape. I read the reviews thoroughly and then bought and applied the tape to rugs of different sizes using the "no more than 7 inches apart " technique suggested by one of the reviewers. EUREKA!!!!!! It's been a month now and there are no ripples, raised edges or any other issues. We applied the tape to the edges and then across the rug or mat(we suggest applying tape to the carpet for any rug larger than 4/6 and to the rug for smaller sizes. We can't thank you enough for your product. We're thrilled, and at 86 years old, no longer concerned about tripping over bumps and raised edges all the time. Bravo.

Use plenty of tape al0ng edges & just in general -
This is rug on rug. 1st I tried a thin foam pad that's sticky on both sides. The pad stayed down but the rug slipped around easily. Then, I go this tape and used it between the pad and top rug and also between bottom rug and tape. I've had to re-tape in a couple of places. I think I can get it to really work well if I take the whole thing up; use a lot of tape everywhere - especially edges, and get someone to help me with place the foam pad to bottom rug & top rug down on to lower rug. That would help a lot. Meantime, I'm ok with how it's working now - so will save this project for later. Also, I put tape in refrig for a while before using as even the edge of tape roll is very sticky. I gave it an overall 5 because it's the only thing that's worked - even reasonably well.

Well it works!
It does exactly what it says.... which is good and bad. I bought a new runner and when to remove the old one. It took major effort to remove it. Not this runner was on top of our carpet. The tape didn't move, I was worried I had ruined the carpet and that my husband would go into melt down. I finally had to get a butter knife and my steamer to slowly (very slowly) get this tape to come up. This process took quite a while. The new runner is one of those washable rugs to I will not be using this with that. I have used this on the cushion mat in front of my sink which is on tile. I have realized when we eventually move that will stay. I know that would come up in pieces if I were to try. So if you're looking for something that you want to stay in place and never move this is your tape. Otherwise you have to put in some major effort to attempt to pull it up. Hopefully you have a steamer handy.

Does the job!
I tried a lot of different carpet tapes before I arrived at this one and this one is the only one that kept our runners taped in place to our hallway carpet. I can’t say for sure that this tape is superior to all others. It could be that I have improved my carpet taping technique after taping my carpets so many times. I will say this . . . what seems to be working now is placing strips of tape vertically about one foot apart. Putting tape just around the edge of the carpet was a repeated disaster!

RUINED BOTH CARPETS
This tape did indeed keep my rug in place on top of already existing carpet. So much so that it ABSOLUTELY RUINED MY RUG AND THE CARPET BENEATH. It has torn the underside of my rug off, and the residue it leaves on the carpet below is impossible to get off. DO NOT BUY THIS and definitely don’t use it if you don’t own the place you live in - because you will not get a security deposit back, trust me. Absolutely destroyed my expensive rug and then cost me (at minimum) hundreds of dollars to fix the carpet beneath.

Secures my decorative rug to office carpets
My decorative rug which I was placing over existing office ugly rental carpet kept slipping 🙄 I tried 1st that none slip mat that works great when placed under carpet for wood & concrete floors. Not so when carpet is placed on carpet🤔 So I got this roll of STICK RUG TAPE! Yippee it worked♥️

It works... I guess
First of all, the product is STICKY. So sticky that your hands, scissors everything but the rug will immediately get stuck. Once you get a grip, it was fairly easy to roll out but a PAIN to cut. It also does not stick to the rug well. I've had to pull it up and reapply new tape twice in my bedroom. But once exposed, your feet, socks, and pets will get stuck to this tape and may cause you to trip a little. I've applied it to a hard surface floor too and it works like a dream. Still a pain to remove but it does not leave residue when removed. Its not bad... but maybe I just don't know any better.
