Perfect carry-on bag
I used this on a trip to Europe as a carry-on. I was able to stuff a lot into it and it still fit easily into the overhead bin. I read other reviews that commented on the handle being too short. Either the reviewer was extremely tall or they had a defective handle that didn't extend all the way. Mine worked very well and was easy to pull. I also read that it had a tendency to tip over. Knowing that, I packed it so the bottom, when standing, would provide some needed support. It did tend to lean a little but still stood upright. My thought is, if you check this bag it may not stand up to baggage handlers tossing it around. As long as you use it as a carry-on it'll last a long time.

Horrible quality
I bought a Cal Pak from Ross or TJ Maxx back in 2006/7 and it was the best carry-on bag I ever used. I still have it. It snagged once and tore on the top, so I patched it back up. It's still sturdy and great to use. However, I could never find the bag again in the store.I found these on Amazon and they were soooo close to what I originally had. So I bought two. They were horrible quality. Both of the handles broke on the first two trips I used them on. One of them had a seam come loose before I ever used it, and when I tried to return it for a warranty replacement, they said I had to work with with the retailer I purchased it from, and they said, "our warranty department does not handle warranties for Amazon LLC customers."I'm saddened the quality sucks. Don't buy this if you need something to last longer than one trip. I wish I could get the original one from before, but I'm sure they have changed their manufacturer and this bag no longer exists..

Awesome on a long, cross country trip!
I bought 2 of these, one for each of my 8 and 12 year old children, for a cross country trip. We flew from east coast to west coast and then drove for 10 days to 5 different cities. These rolling bags have been on planes (to and from plus transfers), camping at Yosemite, shoved into the back of a rental car, packed to the gills with dirty clothes and gifts for the return trip. Both held up just fine. Both kids were looking for a bigger, more grown up suitcase without fuss and all the bells and whistles. These bags seemed perfect. They arrived flat and were easily unpacked. They came with a long strap for carrying, as well as handles that velcro together and an extendable pull handle. My 8 year old had no problem with the height of the handle. They packed 2 pairs of shoes, clothes for 6 days, stuffed animals, toiletries and a few books.Even stuffed with dirty clothes on the return trip, this was still easily maneuvered through the airport. Negatives: It doesn't sit upright because it is a duffle and not flat on the end. The fabric is slightly thin, so I am not sure how long this will last. But for the price, I don't think you can go wrong.

The main feature I needed stopped working
I needed a rolling bag to take things to physical therapy. My most important requirement was a locking handle so it could be pulled AND pushed. The description said it had that feature. It was also a bright purple (as seen on 2 monitors and a tablet). No, this a dark, muddy purple that with indoor light, looks brown. Annoying but it could be lived with--the handle was locking. So I packed it with a two-piece swimsuit, 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel, some small toiletries, water bottle and water shoes. It worked when it came out of the box and when it went into/out of the car. Half way to the building (no steps) the handle retracted. I tried several times--wouldn't hold. So I had to do my little twist/walk maneuvers to get it to thru the door (I'm going to PT so I won't have to do that dance anymore and lifting it isn't an option). So...back it goes. The reason it got 2 stars instead of one is because it's roomy with easy access. Back to my search.

A good choice for the size and price
This is a nice roomy bag. The inside has no straps to hold your items down, but it is very roomy and if packed correctly can hold approximately a week's worth of clothing and toiletries. The wheels have held up well so far as has the handle. The "bones" so to speak feel fragile but remained sturdy not breaking after being scrunched into an overhead compartment. This may not be true of all carriers but it was acceptable for a carry on as I flew international with Emirates and did not incur any fees for this bag.It doesn't always stand up on its own, when it's attempted to be parked in an upright position it will fall over more often than not. If you want an inexpensive bag on wheels for overnight trips or even cross country this is a good choice

Great bag, not so nice smell to start with.
I bought the California Champ rolling duffle bag because it has the handle on the outside, which gives you more packing space on the inside of the bag, and it has a great look to it.When I got the bag home, the first thing I noticed was that it has a very strong chemical smell that is rather offensive.I let it air out, put a fabric softener sheet inside the bag, and hoped the odor would decrease over time.I took it on a short 2 day trip on business, and zipped my clothes up in zip lock bags so they wouldn't smell like the bag when I used them.I had a few items not in the zip locks, and fortunately they didn't take on the smell of the bag as I thought they would.I like the portability and ease of use with this bag for carry on in a small puddle-jumper jet where the over head storage bins are too small for a 21" carry on bag. It worked great for this purpose.I would have given it a 5 star rating except for the nasty smell it had upon opening the bag that it arrived in.

Well designed but brekas easy and they have a bad warranty program
Exactly what I was looking for. Handles well as a medium duffel bag. Not too heavy with added roller weight. Handles nice as a roller. I travel a decent amount and it seems to squish down in the smaller luggage overheads. I can easily fit clothing for a 2-3 business trip.Update Jan 2018: Downgraded review from 5 to 2 stars. I have taken a total of 5 trips. Most of them 2 day business trips. The wheel on longer spins. Seems to have been become misaligned. Looked up the company policy and they charge you $15 to conduct warranty repair. This is on top of you prepaying shipping. They clearly don't understand what in warranty repair is meant for. It's a good product if you don't need repair, but of the 3 I bought, 2 have already broken.
