This is the best value in a HH stand.
Well built (definitely heavier than most), smooth action, good value. Being able to adjust the pedal tension is so nice — my old cheap stand didn’t have that feature. And the swiveling two-leg system lets me easily fit the stand next to my other gear. My only gripe is that the nut that screws on under the top hat cymbal to attach the clutch is plastic. Such a well-built stand should come with the standard metal nut. But I’m still giving this stand five stars. If you want a quality stand at a decent price and don’t mind the extra weight, get this. I think it’s every bit as good as other more expensive stands.

Best bang for your buck!
Build quality is excellent. Very sturdy. Smooth and quiet operation. Best bang for the buck by far. I plan on purchasing the remote version as well as my secondary hi hat. Finally someone out there building equal high quality products for drummers, without the exorbitant costs of the brand name manufacturers. If you want a great hi hat stand without paying an arm and a leg, look no further than Griffin. Made in the USA. I’m looking forward to purchasing more Griffin products in the near future.

Another good product from Griffin (GeekStands)
Needed a 2-leg HH stand to accommodate the double bass pedals. Previously found very high quality from USA made Griffin, so I didn't hesitate to order. The workmanship in their products is off the chart. They take pride in their work and they are HEAVY DUTY (and pretty heavy). With a little mechanical aptitude, they are easy to assemble. The adjustable spring tension makes them usable for both small or heavy footed players. This will likely be the last HH stand I will need...but I see they make a mixer stand and mic stands, so I will order from them again.

Usable
I tried this because I am a double bass player and I have a hard time getting traditional stands close enough for comfort. I liked the no leg option and thought the two leg might work. It doesn't. Using it as a legless stand the legs are still in the way. I fixed this by cutting the legs off completely and Using a Gibraltar clamp that mounts it to the bass drum. A common complaint is it's heavy, but removing the legs lightens it up a bit, the are quite beefy. The stand is sturdy, the action is good has plenty of adjustment and with the bass clamp mount it is rock solid 👍 the price is great for what you get and I think it would hold up many years of abuse 😀 if you have a grinder and $30 for a clamp you won't be disappointed! I'd give 5 stars if Giffen figured out a way to make the legs detachable without sacrificing quality.

Excellent stand for the money
Nice solid stand. Love the fulcrum chain drive. Very smooth. Great addition for my double kick setup.

95% professional, 5% almost there
I am honestly shocked with this stand and pedal system. I've been drumming for about 30 years and my last drum set I had to sell had the Pearl Eliminator Powershifter hi hat stand and I thought that I would never be able to afford another. Well that was until building my new set, I decided to take a gamble on this because I know how smooth the action the Pearl was, so I had to see. I've used other Griffin stands and they are really nothing to preach about. If they put just a tad more love..like 5% extra into this, it would be a truly professional stand. I wish the quality in this one stand was reflected in the rest of their products. PROS It is your pretty typical 2 leg hi hat stand, with the exception of the chain drive. It's SO similar to the Pearl Powershifter and Redline series stand, that closing my eyes, aside from the cam adjustments, it was on point and just as smooth. CONS Just some weak points and cheap parts between all the quality parts that can be stepped up by the company. For $120ish to get the multi-chain drive system on a solid stand is unbeatable. NOTES I honestly feel like the company could put a little more care into the little things as they do the big features and charge just a little more and they will have a truly professional hi hat stand. - small connection points could be needed up a bit. -higher quality metals in the floor plate and pedal itself would be highly beneficial. - noise dampening felt parts to reduce friction and spring noise would enhance the experience - adding some retractable carpet pegs on the feet - adding some small adjustment points to move the footboard and pedal angles a little would be nice. - and just quality checking all the little moving parts would ensure consistency in quality, especially threaded bits. Overall I feel like this stand is 95% the way to being a professional stand and not just for 2 legs. The chain drive system is well out together but I feel like that little extra love for a little more cost would be HUGE. I really like this stand and will probably make little upgrades if my own because it truly is almost there.

Affordable heavy duty hi hat stand
First of all, customer service ranks top notch. There was a mix up in shipping. Once addressed, Griffin acted to make things right. About the product itself, the design seems to be public domain. I mean, I've found two other brand names selling virtually the same stand, only difference in brands are the in the design of the foot pedal, and how the foot plate mounts to the stand. I knew this from the start, and decided to go with Griffin anyway. Griffin has a more no nonsense design with their foot pedal. Their major competitor's looks like some wannabe Viking-metal-whatever. Griffin's looks like it's for business. The negative's highlighted in some reviews are not deal breakers to me. *Some griped about the weight. The stand weighs in about 12 pounds. Solution: travel with minimum equipment. Just an example: three cymbal stands and a four piece kit. For cymbal stands, PDP 700 series will git 'er done. For pedals, any light but sturdy single chain pedal. DW 2000 feels nice and moves fast. *There was a critique concerning the two key bolt method for securing the pedal base plate to the stand. Complaint made fuss over losing key bolts. Hey, that's why God gave us tackle boxes. Never travel without spare... everything. And just for the record, you don't really need two key bolts to secure the plate. My stand came with three bolts: one for each side, and one for the front. For quick setup, I don’t need all three bolts. The front bolt and the two spring loaded anchor spikes, are all that’s needed to keep the plate sturdily in place. This method can save a few seconds (or minutes depending on the fumblerooskies) with set up. *Someone complained about stability. For stability, I gave it 5 stars. Compared to any three leg stand, a two legger is going to fall short. I compared the Griffin to a couple of duecers already in my possession: A Pearl 2050, and a DW 3500T. All three stands plant pretty much the same. Stability depends on where the legs are positioned, and how you set up the base and legs. The only improvement I could think of to make this a more competitive product would be, and I know this is some serious nit picking: *A little less meat on the clutch. The wing nut is massive for what’s needed. The problem with this is... it just looks awful.

Just get this one
I think it’s a great stand it does everything a 2 leg high hat stand should do. Easy assembly, comes with some Allen keys and drum key. It looks nice the weight is good enough it seems very durable. I did not like the clutch it came with tho that was the only thing I didn’t use from it. I think it’s the best for the price it’s smooth I love the double chains and the design of it I’ll be using it for awhile.
