Good Stuff
I had never even heard of fonio before, so this was a new experience for me. I was quite pleased with the product -- ease of preparation, taste, etc. I have ordered some more.I noticed that another reviewer said she found it to be disgusting. I know that some people find oatmeal to be disgusting, too, so I am assuming that her problem was simply that she and her husband do not like this type of food and that there was nothing actually wrong with the product.

Very tasty nutritious GF grain
Decided to try fonio as i like millet and eat mostly acient grains for the nutrition and being GF. I bought this brand because it had very positive reviews and is organic. I was not disappointed. This brand is very clean. Just a quick rinse was fine. Delicious with some ghee and salt. Would probably be really good with cheese if you can do dairy. A consistency like grits but flavor more like rice. If you toast it first, its more like couscous.Unfortunately, when i went to order more, a hefty shipping charge had been added and then they completely sold out before i decided to buy anyway, which was disappointing, but i think the covid virus has probably decreased shipments into our country. Trying another brand right now, but will probably go back to this brand when its back in stock.

Better than Rice
As a fitness foodie, I consume white and brown rice three times a day. I've never heard of Fonio before but my friend recommended it as a healthier alternative to rice. After receiving it, the information on the bag reveals it has a lower glycemic index which means it digests slower than white rice. Apparently people who suffer from diabetes in Africa eat Fonio instead of rice according to the package info. It is super easy to cook so I replaced all my rice meals with 200 grams of cooked Fonio to receive the nutrient benefits. It's loaded with minerals like calcium, magnesium, zinc and selenium. You might want to flavor it up a bit but I don't mind the bland taste.

Smelled like chemicals when it was cooking
This stuff was horrible. It smelled like chemicals when it was cooking. Tasted BAD. Spit the one bite I took into the sink. Threw the rest away. Plus it was expensive. Also, what is the deal with the picture of the young woman on the front of the package. She is a beautiful young woman.....seems a little odd to include that picture?.?.

Very clean, good product
This was really interesting stuff! Our first time trying Fonio, it is an amazing grain, good flavor and texture, also gluten free. This particular brand was, as advertised and described, very clean, with no dust or extraneous materials mixed in.It is important to add enough water or liquid when cooking! On our first try, I had to keep adding liquid, it takes at least a six to one ratio of liquid to grain!

Delicious and Organic
I had never tried fonio before and this was absolutely delicious. I really respect the company and the sustainability of this product. I wasn’t sure if the product was organic and the company quickly responded with a thorough explanation explaining that they are organic. I will be happy to purchase this product again!

Great brand. Inconsistent availability.
I love this brand Fonio. I really just wish they can keep it in stock and consistent. I bought it o ce last year and didn’t see it again for months. And I just bought 2 a few months ago and now there’s no more again. Amazon says not sure if or when it will be back. I love it but hate that it’s inconsistent with being available. Months in between.
