This belt is great except that I can’t make it as small as I would like for my mom who was pretty tiny. Nonetheless, the seven handles on the sides and back are great for helping to lift her out out of the chair so she can use the walker and she feels more secure when we walk.

I was not comfortable using the gaiter belt rehabs give out to use when assisting someone with transfers. They look like strapping tie downs and are a pain to adjust. With this belt, you determine the fit just once and click it into place very quickly and safely. The multiple handles means you can safely stand in various spots and get a nice firm grip. We used this at drs office and they thought it was a terrific device for safe transfers...especially for two persons assisting. The ot and pt therapists all raved about how well this belt works.

This gait belt has been a life saver for our caregivers and family. It's wide and with an abundance of handles, it makes handling patients much safer and easier ! It's well made and is used every day, all day. The belt is also comfortable for the patient. I would give it 100 stars for top notch in all aspects!!

This has been a very helpful gait belt. My husband is smaller than me and it helps us both feel more comfortable and safe. The padded handles are big enough for you to grab in a flash. The only issue I have noticed is that the band will loosen and I have to readjust it each time otherwise it seems well made, no loose threads and nice thick fabric. The big thumbs up is that it doesn't pinch me like the thinner gait belts do.

This really was a life saver on 2 occasions. My husband had a couple of strokes this past summer and he would lose his balance and he didn't even have strength to get up out of a chair and one night. I came to check on him and he had fallen on the floor getting app out of the chair and he had been there for a number of hours and this was the only thing that was able to help me get him up. And it happened another time. But I was right there when it happened. But he had already fallen, but this was really a life. Saver to get him back up as well. I take it to physical therapy with him. So when he's walking the therapist can hold on to him

My wife has terminal MBC. Her ability to walk on her own has now diminished to a point that she needs help. Our daughter does physical therapy work on the other side of the country. She advised us to look into gate belts as a precaution for falls. We did a lot, including speaking with a local physical therapist, to see what gate belt we should get. I found this one, here on Amazon and sent the link to our PT. She said she had never used one but it could be great as it has loads of durable handles. We ordered and received and were more pleased than we thought we would be with our choice. This belt has a VERY durable build design and the material quality is better than what we use at the hospital. It is a little bigger than a traditional belt but the size of it made my wife feel like she was in a safer situation. We took the belt with us to PT a couple of days and and even our PT said it was fantastic. She even asked for the link to be able to order more. In the end, you can't go wrong with this belt if you are in the spot we are.

My mother is up there in years and needs assistance when standing, sitting and walking. This Gait Belt was recommended by physical therapists and the caregivers that come to the house. Comes in very handy. Fits well and the handles are sturdy. Good strong stitching. Very Important...must be worn OUTSIDE the clothing. Not against bare skin. Could cause damage to the wearer.

This belt is made well and has great features. But does not stay stable on the hips while maneuvering a person

Not good!! Perhaps the product was faulty? Don’t know and I guess I will never know as it’s not refundable. The item slides up hurting the patient when helping them to stand up. No matter how tight is on the waist when pulling up always slides up!! I tried to return it immediately however apparently this item is “not eligible for return “ So lost the money.

My husband has a bit of a gut and I find that I can't get the belt tight enough to have a secure lift. When he does stand up, the belt falls down to his ankles. I can see it working once I get the tightness sort out. Any hints would be appreciated.
