This was a solid replacement after my 4th replacement key fob broke. I really need to learn to just gently twist the key. A few reviews talk about sanding the key at the base where the sleeve presses on. Mine did crack a bit after I put it on but it works well enough. It probably would last longer if it wasn’t cracked. I would sand the base of the key next time for a better fit. I have tried a few replacements and this is the best OEM looking fob that I have tried and saved the cost of cutting a new blank.

Don't let them tell you otherwise! Stopped mid-reconstruction to write review in hopes of no one else with exact model and year, of making this same frustrating mistake. Been altering it for 2 days now... can't go anywhere, it's my only key. Heating a razor blade to melt the plastic blade housing around the blade, as the blade is way too thick for this gadget. No way it will last very long... I've bored the plastic so thin it's barely there but needs to fit inside the fob snugly up to the T of the blade.I appreciate those of you with model/year that this thing does fit, but I don't appreciate being told by seller that this will indeed fit my specific type of blade. And if seller truely didn't know, they should have said they didn't know, so they lied either way. Even if it works after all the customizing I've had to do to it, I give it ZERO stars, regardless. Not worth the time spent to justify the price, of which I was skeptical of working in the first place. Because IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE...

2006 Lexus GX460 key. The plastic sock that slips over the metal key still requires modification with this system.Note that you have to tear out the metal key shank from the OEM plastic key fob to use this system. Pliers are likely to be needed. With your metal key shank, you slide over the sock but will find it does not slid all the way up. One can grind off metal towards the end of the key shank or one can grind or file out plastic from the sock so it fits. I chose to modify the sock. Even still with the modifications when I finally slid the metal key all the way into the sock, it still cracked the plastic around the sock. With the sock cracked, it seems to make the plastic somewhat looser in the case.I have the opinion now that it may be better to purchase the other systems that have a blank metal key and have it cut by a locksmith. Not sure what the costs are however to have a locksmith do so.

If fits ok with my RX300 old key. It saves me some hassle and money to make a new one. This new shell is slightly thicker than the original shell, but I can still reach the buttons.
