They are leather uppers and way durable, very comfortable, I couldn’t find my walk around shoes so I grabbed these in a hurry and liked them so I wear them for my walk around sneakers now. Put a coat of beeswax on them and they’re waterproof. I bought a second pair but these haven’t worn-out yet. One think I want to bring up, I buy most of my stuff from desertcart and in the last few months I have noticed that the customer service has gone down. It use to be that they were all for the customer and went out of their way to help you. Lately my impression is that they are now for the company and less for the customer. My guess is they have changed management somewhere because it was like a light switch. I would like to see them go back to being more for the customer. I would always look to desertcart first I always thought that I’ll get it from desertcart and if something goes wrong they’ll make it right. Now I’m not so sure. I regularly wear a size 7.5-8 US women’s sizes, medium width, and nmy foot measures right around 24.5cm so I got the 25cm size. They are comfortable and a little bit roomy, so I might return them for a smaller size, because you don’t want to be sliding around in your shoes while you’re doing kung fu. Also, these aren’t real leather, so don’t get too excited about that. I would not recommend wearing these for anything other than class, because they don’t seem like they’d stand up to everyday wear. If you do martial arts more than a couple hours a week, you’ll probably want to invest in a slightly higher quality shoe. Otherwise these are great if you’re just getting into kung fu or tai chi or whatever. My only real criticism is that the sole is bright yellow and the longer I look at them the more I don’t like them.
